Just got back from Baie du Nord, Gouin Reservoir...

All I can say is weather, weather, weather. Wind, rain and more wind and rain. We wore our rain gear the whole time. Occasional thunder too... Spurious sunshine but wind and rain everyday.

Some pics with me and my proudly displayed FH hat,

Fishing was ok, but could have been better. You could catch walleye all around the lake but in ones and twos jigging points or drifting shorlines. Also some trolling here and there but there was no huge bite. Pike were slow but consistent. According to the caretaker at the cabins, July and early August is good for big pike since the water is so much warmer.

Nice cabins, nice lake (and its huge - lots to explore)... Next time we go for 7 days.

Other highlights, drinking quarts (grosse bieres) of 50 (cinquante!) in a bar in St Ann du Lac while listening to french karaoke from a table of tequila drinking guys and gals (they were doing belly shots, and neck shots). Last but not least was meeting "Francine" the wife half of the hubby-wife owners of Air Melancon...

John

I agree WIG. I love the shot in the rain too. Good to see results emerge from such crappy conditions.
