Re: Access to Limestone in the winter

Just be aware that while Limestone has been heavily stocked forever, with relatively easy summer access it's never been what you would call a productive lake, even back in the past and definitely not since the bass population has taken off while being well fed with trout fingerlings. Even back in th...

Re: pike bite in Charleston lake

I don't know about there, but I did see a post a while back about Runnings Bay being a good area, out from the park. There's actually a pike derby out of there, I think it's past now, but not sure. This was only at most 3 weeks ago, so try a search. One of the islands there is called Pike Island, an...

Re: Kipawa, antler''s kingfisher lodge, bisctasi, lady evely

Wayne and Barb at Kipawa Lodge are great people and as Smitty stated, the fishing and hospitality get great reviews. They were my neighbors at the Gatineau Sportsmen's Show two years in a row which leads me to believe that if you get them soon, before Show season you should be able to get a spot. J...

Re: where's all the trout gone?

You will always have mediocre Brook trout fishing with year round fishing and liberal harvest. i completely agree with you, but i cant help but wonder if there's bohemiths swimming around in the depths of some of these lakes. Generally, the easier access there is, the less chance of fish growing to...

Re: thoughts on Eastons' creek

Except for the culverts there's limited crown land, most is private.
Here's one for ya. How about Broad Brook? Used to get Brookies there back in the 80's. It had a natural population at one time I believe.

Re: Wild Cats Presentation and Workshops

Yea I saw that posted in the local paper. Thought it would be very interesting, until I saw the $45 price tag.

Re: Calabogie trip- room for one or two

Maybe next time... Or if someone has a better suggestion for a location? Location? OK I'll take that a different way and relate it to the lake you happen to be on that day. Now I'm specifically referring to Specks here, but specially later into the winter make sure to check out that shallow soft bo...

Re: live bait near white lake?

Posted by Joe Templeton a week ago.

"Joeballas Bait, Tackle and service. 11602 Lanark rd. Calabogie 613-752-1282"

You could also make arrangements with Serge to pick up minnows by appointment. His banner is on the site.

Re: Opimika Wilderness Camps/Cottages

How about Lake Kipawa in Quebec directly due east, just as big and probably better fishing, Yep, barely 20 minutes from the border to Kipawa. Hey Scuro do you still go up there anymore, I know you used to? For me it's been too long for my liking. Sure do miss my many trips. If anyone ever goes up t...

Re: Calabogie trip- room for one or two

Well Steve it's good to see you guys all got out for a day. That's the main thing right? Shame you didn't catch anything. The main problem with lakes close to roads is that they tend to get a fair amount of pressure. Tooey lake up the road is another example, although a bud of mine goes up there a c...

I was thinking of Lake Temagami actually. Nice to be on a smaller lake though with fish like that in it. You must be a happy lad.
