Just found out......no charge to use the road, no charge to set up a portable hut. There is a charge though if you wish to set up a permanent hut. it is $75. That covers the plowing and maintenance of the ice road, security and the use of the washroom facilitys.......I would call Oziles to clarify t...

Went out this morning. LOTS of ice, at least 18" of clear black. Got myself a nice feed of perch ......and a few pike. Man, are those fun on a 28" ultralight!! :lol: :lol:

Entrance to the ice is off River Rd. south of Taylor Park. You can't miss it. There are a few huts out there. You can expect pike, walleye, perch and panfish....the usual Rideau species. :wink:

I wouldn't attempt that. WAY too much current in that area. The ice would be very unsafe.

Try to get to the end of Grandview Rd to access Shirley's Bay(there is OC Transpo service). Walk out about 500 yds and you should get walleye and perch(and ling , if you stay later).
