Re: Fish Identification

Those are all Pike.

Easiest thing to remember are Pike are dark with white spots and musky are white with dark lines. Also, the tails of
Musky are more red and the tips are more pointed for the most part.

Re: Click here!

Honestly guys, this was the best weekend of fishing I have had in a very long time.

Watching Shawn and Joel boat flip those HUGE fish was priceless. There was nothing better that day than hearing Shawn from at least 3 miles away when he caught that fish.

Hoping to do it all again next year!

Re: Boat Rental Near Ottawa/Kemptville

Short of a guided trip, I don't think you'll have much luck near Kemptville.

Re: Are there fish in the Rideau?

Jason's r recomendation about the leader is very good. Just learn how to tie a good uni to uni knot (lots of lubrication) and you'll be set.

In all honesty, I rarely use a leader and don't often lose lures. But that's up to you.

Re: Are there fish in the Rideau?

This year was a strange year for the Rideau. I typically spend a lot of time on there as it is close to home but I had trouble catching bass on it all season. What ended up working for me was the frog and another topwater mostly. The rest (and largest) came off of a wacky rig under a tree. The bigge...
