Re: Lure Manufactures

Yes, Brand matters but that doesn't mean I stick to one brand over another. Brand recognition will sell product but if the product isn't any good, it won't take long for their sales to start falling. I am more concerned with quality than the brand at this point. If you put out a quality product, I w...

Re: Back from Bassmaster Classic...

I had already read your posts as soon as you posted them but man, what a cool experience.

Makes me think I need to get out to one of these one day. Being a Marshal would be cool but I'd be alright with just the expo.

Re: MILLE LACS

Gord, That exactly what I mean. I basically went through the entire area on the Navionics web app and noted a few deeper 16 foot holes but for the most part, even the channel is pretty shallow. The area east of Burritts has a lot more deeper water with a lot more medium depth water around the channe...

Re: MILLE LACS

Well, you really didn't say that to begin with but good to know the area you are concerned about. Truth be told, I would wonder if the water west of Burritt's Rapids would even be deep enough to support a healthy walleye fishery? I know it has some spots deeper than normal but for the most part, it ...

coming out of a Bass Tracker PT190TX and jumping into a Ranger Z119c. Should be a blast.

Re: Mounting a Helix 7di G2N

:D :D :D I can imagine what you are feeling. I bought a new boat in December and am Having Helix 10's put on it. This will be a completely different experience from boat, motor, speed as well as fishfinders. I had smaller, less capable units on my old boat and I can't wait to check out the new featu...

Re: Mounting a Helix 7di G2N

I think you're on the right track.

No sense rushing into this and doing something you'll regret. Take some good measurements and go from there.

Re: MILLE LACS

Gord,

If you are talking there area between the Merrickville and Kilmarnock locks, no, I have never caught one up there. The only fish I have pulled out of there so far are Bass and Pike.

Re: Mounting a Helix 7di G2N

I would say it depends on where you plan on mounting the ram. I'm sure there is a location that the regular length arm will work but the shorter arm will do just as good. I had something similar to what you have linked on my previous boat and they do work. I did find however, that they did loosen ov...

Re: Portable trolling motor position question

Have to agree with Fishoholic,

Whatever is more comfortable. I have usually seen them on the port side of the stern since most of the people I have seen them with sit on the starboard side while operating a tiller so its just a little bit more of a reach.

Re: MILLE LACS

Judging by the ones I incedentally caught last year on the Rideau and the ones I’ve seen in the past few years, I don’t think there is any sort of shortage of walleye in that river.

Re: 13 Fishing Rods

Are you asking about the newest Omen Black rods? If so, it looks like you get a lot of good features for the money. The cork, guide inserts and overall build look pretty good for a more budget minded stick. After scanning a few reviews, it seems that they tapers might be a little more than some anti...

Re: Boat Insurance

Everything was the same between the two other than I had requested a quote for $10,000 content insurance instead of $5,000.

And yes, both were agreed value.

I’ve sent you a PM.
