Re: Shirleys Bay Ramp - Jan 13 2018

Definitely due then! I'm going to be happy once its done. It will make navigating on and off the river soooo much better. Tim. PS How much ice are you on where your hut is? Isabelle stayed about 20 minutes after you left, took pictures, etc. There is 16 inches of rock-solid black ice where my trail...

Re: Shirleys Bay Ramp - Jan 13 2018

Hey Skarkner, thx for coming down for the meeting this morning. With that said, it looks as if the NCC will be moving a few of the boulders from both the east and west side of the launch, providing 3 different access points to the river! I also just wanted to through out a big THANK YOU too Isabell...

Open Seat - Shirleys Bay

I may hit Shirley's Bay tonight (Saturday 13th) from 3 until 7pm, or possibly Sunday from 2pm until 5pm.

I have a nice hut with extra room if you are looking for a warm spot, let me know. Kids welcome too.

Re: Night ice fishing

Fish for Ling (Burbot) on the Ottawa River. They are huge, a blast to catch and they bite all night. I often start catching them about 1 hour past sunset until just before dawn. Half to full moon seems best. Glow jig and bit of dead minnow and your all set.

I have some good traction on the municipal and provincial government side too through the local councillor, going to link up with Tim and combine our efforts on this one...
