Re: Procedure with OOS fish
My biggest question every year is how does the MNR determine if you are targeting an OOS species? I always have the fear that I'll be fishing for early spring black crappie with a micro jig, and a MNR office will say "oh, that's a jig, clearly you're fishing for bass" or when pike open and...

Alternatively, anywhere to buy live bait near calabogie? Saw Jim's bait, but it seems the phone number has been disconnected.

Anyone know any places around that sell live bait (perfeablly near pickerel bay)?...

Trout fishing in the Ottawa/Gatineau area
Hey guys! Before I begin, I just want to say I'm aware that anglers aren't exactly fast to give up their trout spots. I'm not asking for your honey hole. And I understand completely, hell, I'm not giving up where I target 5 to 6 lb bass either! I get it. Onward with the post. I recently got into ice...

Re: Top water set up advice
When I fish topwater I go has Heavey duty as I can, with the exception of the rod.here is my topwater setup. I use a St.Croix mojo bass 7ft med/heavy rod (yes that's a crankbait rod) but I love the action the slightly softer tip gives me on frogs and spooks. For the reel, I use an Abu Garcia Revo SX...

Re: best Lures?
Hello CanBassK; Thank you for the advise? Mind if i ask where is your favorite lake located, i am "mostly" limited to public transportation, but i can often catch rides from others as well, some of who are also getting into fishing. I am definitely going to be looking at these baits you h...

Re: best Lures?
Hi sno, I'm a bass fishing guy, and I use A LOT of lures. But there are a few that stand out to me. It all really depends on the time of year, weather, water temp, clarity, pressure, and a slew of other factors. The good news is, it's all very easy to learn! If you're just getting into fishing, a co...

Re: Looking to trade soft water fishing for ice fishing.
ETA: Assuming you meant 4-Feb? Not Nov????  Yep, definitely ment February lol! Just to add on this post. I live in Orleans, close to Petrie. I do not ice fish as much as I used to. Though, if anyone gets you out, and find a spot you like (Petrie) or otherwise, I have a brand new hand au...

Re: Looking to trade soft water fishing for ice fishing.
It could be any Saturday really, Sundays are usually my run around and do errands day, and I work on weekdays. This Saturday won't work, but any Saturday after would be awesome.
