Silent Lake Provincial Park August 2018
Had the pleasure of camping and fishing with Don and Steve at one of the most beautiful Ontario parks we have. Steve, Colleen and I arrived on Wednesday, and Don got there Friday. We also met up with Scott on the water Saturday and exchanged stories over the campfire and a few drinks that night. I t...

Florida Flats/Keys fishing adventure (pic heavy)
Just got home from a Florida yak fishing adventure that started off with 5 nights in New Port Richy, followed by 4 nights in The Keys on Lower Matecumbe Key and finished with 2 breezy days in Edgewater fishing the famous Mosquito Lagoon. I caught a bunch of different fish, but my highlight would hav...

Re: Kawartha Lakes... Disappointed with the Fishing here !
Just came back from a week in that area. Only managed one musky, but the bass fishing was fantastic. Didn't really try for walleye, but did catch a few in the weeds on senkos, so I'm guessing the walleye fishing is probably pretty good as well. Maybe do a bit of research and try some new techniques ...

Murphy's Point Provincial Park
Camped here this past week end. Brent(EEF) joined us for an overnight Friday and Bryan(greydog) made the 2 hour drive for a 7am launch on Saturday. All of us caught Lakers, but had to work for them. Fish were a lot deeper then previous years on the same weekend. All fish were caught jigging. Couldn'...

Re: Silent Lake Provincial Park May 2017
Ya, the first I'd used it was this past winter on lake Muskoka. I was getting no action trolling so tried jigging. I think I'll be trying jigging for Lakers a lot more nowtheDL wrote:Great post! The sebile vibrato is deadly for lakers, nice shot on the sonar, that was the one that got away?

Silent Lake Provincial Park May 2017
Spent the past weekend camping with the Black flies. Wow were they out in full force. Fished Friday and Saturday, managed to get 2 nice Lake Trout, one in the slot and one over. Fishing is tough at Silent Lake, but it's one of the most beautiful lakes I've been on. http://i1344.photobucket.com/albums...

What an adventure. I've fished the flats in Florida with my Hobie, but Cuba would be awesome. I'd love to pick up a Hobie inflatable someday.

Re: Best fishfinder/GPS combo for fishing Kayak
If I was in the market for a new combo for my kayak, I'd be choosing between a Lowrance Hook-4 Sonar/GPS Mid/High/Downscan Fishfinder $351.94 ($393 with navionics+), a Raymarine Dragonfly-4 Pro Sonar/GPS $396.46($472 with navionics+) or a pricier Hummingbird Helix 5 which is over $500. All of these ...
