Re: Kid friendly fishing spots?

Hi I used to take my little one to the Kars public boat launch. The bottom of the road has the river and some SERIOUS panfish mayhem normally on the right hand side of the pier, and the top of the road has a decent park with a play structure etc. I also think the little store is still there and open...

Re: Need help for possible bait casting combo purchase.

I'm a 50/50 guy - I use and love both types so i won't do the coke or pepsi debate they both have good points and bad points. I really like the accuracy for casting and depending on the reel set up the extended distances i can get from the BC set up that I simply cant from a spinning set up. I also ...

Re: ottawa walleye/crappie

Hi, Well the rideau is close and between manotick and kemptville on this river there is easy access to several spots. I've been doing well enough so far on walleye on the rideau jigging a small spoon with a minnow head on the treble. Whitelake is also close enough (1.5hrs) and it's great for perch a...

Re: Ice fishing pop up tents - what’s your preference

Not a flag ship name brand like eskimo and clam but I have the Cabelas insulated wide bottom. I would say its very good quality build - not premium but by no means cheaply made. They are on sale regularly and you can normally get them at least $200 cheaper than the big names. Spend that extra money ...

noise/interference Terrova/helix 7

Hey all, I have a terrova bow mounted trolling motor and a bow mounted Helix 7. I have the universal transducer on the motor selected for 2d sonar etc. I get really bad noise and interference if i have the motor running at all. and I seldom if ever get an accurate depth reading (motor running or not...

Re: trolling motor

I Have a terrova. I like it for my uses (multi species). Spot lock is a great feature and i use it on the Larry, to the fullest of its potential, to stay on humps etc in quick current - it never fails to impress me with how well it does this. My fishing buddy has the Ultrex. No question it's easier ...

Re: Rites of spring

Can't wait! see you there. Anyone wondering if it's worth the drive out - the answer is YES. I'll agree the chicken is plus for sure... but the advise from experts on hand and information on products and techniques etc etc etc is by far something you shouldn't miss. information on bobs lake.

Hi All, Renting a cottage on bobs lake this summer (yes i'm planning THAT far ahead haha - it helps make winter seem shorter). I'm not too familiar with the lake. Navionics seems pretty detailed but I'm wondering if anyone has tips or likely tactics and locations. Obviously I'm not looking for the h...

Re: Lower Beverly

Only fished there three times. First time out i tried it all and got SKUNKED a full day of burning gas... got back to the launch and met a fella who had 3 nice largies (4lbs+) he said it was all about the drop shot there. Near the island shelves and lynhurst creek with creature baits. We camped over...

Re: leaders: yes or no?

Just my two cents: Tie a 24"-36" fluorocarbon leader 20-30lbs to braid 50-60lbs. There are whack loads of different knots to join them but my go to is the FG or Alberto both are secure and easy to tie with practice. If you want quick lure swaps look into the fastach its really quick howeve...
