10th Muskie of the year

This is my 10th Muskie of the year. This little one hit an 8 inch perch colored Jake. All the fish were between
30 and 34 inches and the best so far has been 42 inches. I know that there is a 50 incher out there with my
name on it and I am just stubborn enough to keep chasing them... Billy Bones

I usually use about 2 to 2 1/2 feet of monofilament behind the bottom bouncer. I don't use a full worm harness, I use some
home made spinners that are so simple to make. Here's a small assortment of what I use. They are good with worms, minnows,
or plastics of any kind... Billy Bones

Kyle's First Muskie

Kyle1.jpg Kyle2.jpg Grandson Kyle got his first two Muskie this morning. The bigger one was 34 inches and the other one was just a baby Muskie. I included the picture of the baby because it looks like a Tiger Muskie to me. Or the coloration is because it is still a young fish. Both were released un...

Hi Ya Jim

Nice Laker Jim, I haven't tried Charleston in years, I know the Big Rideau better. Going to give it a try on Monday
with grandson Kyle. We will be jigging and sight fishing with the sonar... Billy Bones

Re: Muskie Experience

Thanks Hank Jr. I have a couple of jointed Believers with two settings, one for shallow and the other for deep. Will also try to get a couple of Jakes, I like the perch colours, most of my smaller muskies were caught on jointed J11 Rapalas. Will be out later in the week dragging large lures for that...

Re: Muskie Experience

Hey RJ

I have the proper gear, nets, rods, trolling reels. I have caught a great many muskie but after hooking into
that 50 incher on the Ottawa, I have decided to target larger muskie. I can't do a lot of casting so would like
to pick up a few large trolling baits... Billy Bones

Re: What's the law???

Thanks Smitty, wasn't sure but I thought that it would be something like that. I will check it out a bit more just to be sure. My cousin lives on the west island of Montreal and we're planning a couple of Muskie trips around Wendover, meet half way so to speak. We used to fish the St. Lawrance River...

Muskie Experience

Was out on the Ottawa River early last week (Lac Dechenes) and hooked into two Muskies while fishing for Walleye. Lost them both, one at the boat that had to be close to 50 inches. I was using home made spinner rigs on a bottom bouncer in 12 to 20 feet of water on drop offs. I would like to know wha...
