Yeah, and the weather gets ugly from here to Monday next week. Water levels on most rivers seems to be rising. The Ausable is blown out again acording to their site.

It would be nice to get some good fishing days in before August

Lookinforlunkers, Listen to Ganman, he knows what of he speaks - watching him cast I can attest to his skills and knowledge - he makes everything look easy! He is right on the 9 foot rods, and I speak from experience my own experience with it. I went from a 9 fot 5 wt as my primary rod, to a 7.5 ft ...

For sure! Just got back from camping near Elizabeth town and fished the bouquet river. Surprising number of good size browns there for the size of the river. Drop me a line when you want to head out again... I have only been bass fising twice this year, Ganman, I blame you for turining me into a tro...

I started my little guy at 2. Granted, he didn't have a hook on the pole - I took the hooks off a rapala and let him cast it out and play around with it to get a feel. He is now 3 and a half, and continually out fishes dad! I am going to start him on the fly rod probably around 5 or 6 (or as soon as...

Fly Tying Materials

Just a tip for those of you that tie your own flies. Bungie cords are a great source for rubber legs used on top water bass flies, hopper patterns and even nymphs. Just cut the chord to the length you want, remove the cover and voila - a lifetime supply of legs. They can also be dyed using markers, ...

That sucks man!

Hmmm.. a summer place - I am intrigued. I am planning on hitting little river on Friday to see if I can get some brookies - any other areas I should be checking out this time of year.

Hopefully we can hook up next week for a fish - the trout miss you.

I'm heading to Little River in the Adirondacks to fly fish some brook trout if your interested. Leaving pretty early and staying most of the day. Will probably check out some other streams in the area as well - depending on how the fishing goes.

Upstate NY - Cold Brook

Got up at 3:30 this morning and headed down to the edge of Adirondack park to a brook that Ganman pointed out to me on our last trip. Got there about 5 AM it was cool, overcast and a bit misty. Tried a couple of different flys - BWO, grey caddis etc, lots of rises but no takers. Tied on a wulf patte...
