John's passing is a great loss for our fishing community.
I've known and fished with/against John since the mid-80's, and if there is one person who exemplified that which is good about our sport - it was John.
A true gentleman and sportsman in every sense of the word.

Anyone else have a favourite pet?
Here's mine:
Click on photo for life-sized photo.
This largemouth has more personality than the other fish in my aquarium - and more of an appetite too.
I'll try to get a shot of him after he's choked down half a dozen shiners.

I can't believe anyone could even dream of hurting these beautiful creatures: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v176/Cancatchbass/CORMORANTCHICKS.jpg I spent some time in a breeding colony this past spring. It's a real experience. Almost like walking on the moon, I imagine, although I'm not sure how...

Good St. Lawrence muskie caught?
Word comes from a reliable source that a Gananoque man pulled a 60", 57 pound muskie from the River a couple of days ago.
He and a friend were fishing from a
CANOE
Unfortunately, it was kept and is on its way to be mounted.
I'll post more info as it becomes available...

Generally, fish caught from depths 30 feet or greater should be considered as coming from deep water. From this depth, as fish are brought to the surface, the gases in...
