Any insight on cottage rentals?

Looking to rent a cottage for a week (likely early August) within 2 hours of Ottawa ( can be in Ontario or Quebec). Good fishing, family friendly shoreline, and fully equipped cottage a must. If you've got any recommendations feel free to pm me a link or contact info.

Re: Fishing in Pembroke

Pine Ridge Resort about 10 minutes from downtown towards Petawawa. There is a launch down there you can use if you have a boat or rent a canoe/kayak from them and head to the islands just upriver. Great smallie fishing early and in the evening.

I found them new on ebay for $70 plus shipping. Might look at that option down the road if the fix doesnt pan out.

Thanks Dan, I'm going to take it apart this weekend and check the contacts and give it a good cleaning. You still have a powerdrive unit?

Re: Anyone Buying The Vexilar / Navionics?

Ive only used mine for ice fishing with the kids using an iPad for display. Yakster has it down pat - we ended up watching Boxtrolls and drinking hot cocoa :D

Re: Hard vs. Soft Jerk-baits

Im completely the opposite I guess. Always been a fan of sluggos and I'll throw flukes over their hardbait counterparts 9 times outta 10. Just more my comfort zone i guess. Interesting topic.

My favourite has long been the empty propane tanks lodged halfway in the thickness of the ice... nothing dulls an auger blade quicker

Re: Lac Georges, Alfred-Plantagenet?

Only been there in the winter and there's definitely two places to drive on, perhaps they are public launches. Been a while so I can recall exactly where but they are on opposite ends of the lake. Walleye and perch in there, not sure what else.

Re: Fishing Jerseys

Leaf fans have been wearing their jerseys to Ottawa games for years now. Usually when their crap team wasn't even playing. So to answer your question, you won't look like a dick, but maybe a Leafs fan.
