Re: Big Rideau lake trout
That’s the size I run. Perch colours seem to work good. I do upsize the tremble and put on a high quality one. I don’t have spot lock either but I use a tiller boat. So I keep the motor running and just back into the wind and shift between forward and reverse as needed. Takes some practice. I’ve als...

Re: Big Rideau lake trout
I made it out Sunday morning with my buddy Chris onto the big Rideau. I go out every opening weekend on the Rideau so we have our spots and lures already picked out. We leave the boat launch at about 6 and make the 20-30min run to the spot. We set up to start “sharpshooting” the lake trout. 862B8871...

Re: Big Rideau lake trout
In anticipation of opening this weekend I thought I would bring this post back up. I’ll be hitting the Rideau Sunday morning, using these same techniques. Hopefully they work again this year. If anyone gets out Saturday let me know how the bite is!

Quebec Salmon and trout
My parents recently purchased a cottage on the Quebec side, so I’m going to be doing a lot of fishing up there in the coming years. This weekend was my first real try at fishing the lake and it went amazing. It’s a massive shield lake with a big basin that is about 330ft in the middle, springs, stee...
