Fantastic Craig! Where are the pictures from our first outing? :) Great to share some time with you in the boat this summer - lots of laughs and a ridiculous number of rockets on NASA lake.

Good luck with the upcoming work.

Hey - Alymer Canadian Tire...~$13 for a one day non-res license - you can purchase it in advance (i.e., doesn't have to be purchased the day you are fishing).

Good luck,

We have a cottage in that area and every - and I mean every - trust me, I've looked - lake in Labelle, La Conception, Mont Tremblant area etc. now requires a boat wash and has more or less private access via $25 to $50+/day launch fees (if they have a public launch at all) - you can fish in the park...

Excellent showing RJ despite the nasty conditions - I haven't fished Big Rideau a ton, but I do know that when the wind gets going from the W/SW it can get really brutal in a hurry in some spots. Although tough, I think those "scramble" days can be among the most rewarding - a true test of...

Cabelas Jigging Spoons

The Cabela's jigging spoons (first three - fourth is a LJ crippled herring) I ordered showed up today - I picked these up for lakers/smallies - has anyone used these particular spoons? I went with the 2oz weight to get deep quickly and have good contact with the bottom. There are a lot of colour/wei...

I don't know that it makes it a difference, but I certainly act as if it does. For example, I definitely use fluoro leaders with braid, fluoro alone, light line etc. in clear water for trout and smallmouth. Does this make a difference? I don't know, but it certainly helps my confidence level, which ...

Nice laker - beautiful colours. Good looking meal too :)

I was back at it again today for the lakers myself but the bite was tough - just 1 in three hours - nobody else seemed to have much luck either.

I'm just waiting for YUM or one of the other companies to come out with a giant lake trout coloured senko  I'm sure those giant rainbow trout swimbaits they use in California were laughed at initially... Wolfe, it would be tough to overemphasize how big this smallie was - like everyone e...

Laker vs. Smallie: An epic battle

I was out yesterday working on my drop-shot technique for lakers (check out RJ’s blog for a breakdown of the set-up/technique – thanks again for the tips!) – hooked into 6 lakers total but that wasn’t the highlight of the trip… I was bringing up perhaps the smallest laker of the day – ab...
