Re: Bass tournament anglers an opportunity is here.....

If you have questions on how RBT series in operated or the associated costs, I would encourage you to attend the AGM this October. Most of these issues are addressed then. Everyone has an opinion on a business model for tournaments. RBT has build the business model over 22 years with ups and downs a...

Re: Bass tournament anglers an opportunity is here.....

Hey Maverick, I can comment on your questions but first I'll address the donating piece and answer your question with a question - Do you think that any one who fishes the RBT wasn't intimidated by the field, the investment or the challenge of new waters? The answer is, each and every one of the ang...

Re: Fish-Hawk member rigs

I don't post here very often but here's my rig. If you see me on the water and want a test ride just say hi! We'll go for a rip and give you that wind blown look.

Blog

RJ,

Can you please post your prefishing blog at least three days before each tournament.

I wouldn't mind specific GPS coordinates and lure type and colour as well.

If it's not too much trouble pal.

Thanks,

Matt

In the province of Ontario we are fortunate to have laws on the books that protect the rights of anglers and hunters. It's called the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act. Specifically the law reads: Section 13.(1) dictates: Obstruction of hunting, trapping or fishing 13. (1) A person shall not interf...

Impressive

If you've ever fished out of a Kayak, you would understand the challenge. I've landed an 8.5lb Largie in Florida standing on a bass boat and that was a crazy fight. I can't imagine catching a 14lb+ Largemouth while literally sitting "on" the water with no height leverage on the fish and on...

Manufacturing

The video is a good general overview of rod blank manufacturing but doesn't talk about any of the real technical aspects that you will want to cover off in your project. Things you might want to look into: Synthetic Graphite - Most fishing rods are made with synthetic graphite and not natural graphi...

Cleaning Cork Rod Handles

I was at the Toronto Spring Fishing Show last weekend and I was asked this question a number of times. I realized that a lot of anglers have no idea how to clean rod handles. There are a couple of easy ways I use to clean rod handles and get them looking like new. Magic Eraser Mr. Clean's Magic Eras...

Rod Lengths

A 7ft or 7'6" MH rod is best. If you're fishing deeper water, you want to be able to have a longer rod to improve the amount of line you can pick up quickly on a hookset. You're also going to get better leverage with a longer rod and can size down on # test and let the rod do the work instead o...

Auction Rods

Thanks for the Kistler support guys. Just an FYI that we've donated a couple of rods to Big Jim's night - one of them is a 7ft heavy Micro Magnesium Rod. There are only a few of these available in Canada right now so you can be one of the first to get your hands on one while donating to a great caus...

A 6'3" rod will be short to try and impart the action you are looking for. I would at least look at a 6'9: M or ideally a 7ft M. You need to let the rod tip help you work the bait.

Grips

Biggs, Changing it over to a full grip won't likely have the desired outcome you are looking for. The additional cork weight won't be significant enough to pull the rod tip up. Try a rod balancing kit to get the right balance out of your rod - it's going to do a better job and with the multi-weight ...
