Rideau Muskies?

Other than the really, really, really nice one just posted by Mr. Twister, has anybody else had much luck on the Rideau this fall? I have been out a bunch of times, and to me, everything seems really late this fall. We have had a few follows near the island, but no major activity yet. The bridges ha...

Nice touch Bobber. Thanks. I would like to add a fishing component to this. Three, maybe four or perhaps five, maybe even six years ago I remember muskie fishing on the Rideau on Remembrance Day. Bobber, you were there I think, and I think you took the picture. I had my poppie on, and it was cold bu...

This is good stuff, and thanks for the participation from Big Jim and the Dr., but a 40 foot walleye???? No way....4 feet, maybe? 40 feet, no, not on this planet!

I just read 5 pages of this thread... And I have come to realize that their is too much bitching and not enough fishing going on. If it looks like 5lbs, and your scale says it was 5lbs, and if it feels good, then you had a good day. Who cares what others think about your 5lb fish? Something bigger w...

I know White Lake, and Cedar Cove, very well. A few posters have noted that Walleye/Pickerel are there but hard to find. That's true. Pickerel Bay, on the main lake side around sunset, 20-30 feet, using a jig and minnow will do the trick. You can get minnows at Cedar Cove, or at the Pickerel Bay Lod...

Hey Bowzog...

I hear a pic of my 48 inch lunge is on your wall at Bits and Baits...I love it...anything I can do to help. Good sucker/chub minnows you have by the way. Every time I have bought some I have come home with a big smile, and Bobber hasn't :) I sense a need to come in again very soon... possible snowst...

Sorry guys and gals. It has been a while since I responded..my wife is a new, avid, teacher and I rarely get to see my computer. Am I ever glad I bought it...:) Thanks for the comments on the fish. Bobber has become a good, reliable netter. With all he is learning this year, he will be a good fisher...

By the time I noticed the Turkish Hackers were going about their stupid business, and called Bobber to let him know, he had been on it for a few hours, with out of town guests at his home. So, keep that in mind when you think free-stuff like this site is readily available. Bobber, Fish-Hawk and many...

I am pretty sure I have one of the first hats, at least one of the first 5 or 6. The only cleaning my hat has received has been either screaming down the Ottawa or Rideau river in the pouring rain or being tossed in the bottom of the shower and kicked around a bit while I shower. It is clean but sta...

Hey WIG, I sort of agree with you. But I also agree with FH. It is a great little spot to hide until the missus finds you. However, I think a good business plan would include putting lingerie, etc. in the front of good tackle shops like Baitcasters and Paddletales (alphabetical order only, no prefer...

Bobber, Fish-Hawk and I all use mini vans to tow our boats. No problems so far, except for the tranny incident in Bobber's van a few years ago. We think that was caused by an earlier accident and not towing. Interesting thread.

Easily 25+...No question. There have been times that I have had to grab the back of someone's pants so they did not get dragged in, in damn cold water, because one decided to run at the last minute. Anybody that has caught one with size knows that they have enough power and speed to catch you off gu...

Simon, I did everything today. It was strange, I have never fished in chocolate milk before. All the river launches were frozen over for a few days and then we had several days in a row of nice weather, with no wind. I thought today would be fantastic. Light winds, lots of sun, hungry fish (because ...
