Info for St Lawrence Lake Ontario etc

Some info that might come in handy.

If you hit *16 on your cell phone on the St Lawrence or Lake Ontario, you automatically get the Coast Guard in Prescott.
I do not know if this works on any of the great lakes.
Hope you never need it .

Cutting Braided Lines

I bought myself a pair of Gerber Line Cutters, they are a little pair of scissors that seem to work very well, but i have only had them a short period of time and have know idea of how they will hold an edge.

Hi do not forget about a Minnkota on board, they are very nice units. Before you buy any make sure that when the battery is fully charged that the charger shuts off completly, most go to a trickle charge status and this could boil a battery if left for any extended length of time. Ten amps per batte...

Have you though of a MG or Cabo, they are Quantum reels, I looked at them at the Carp show, they are a one piece frame and have a lot lower profile. They come in two sizes, the guy told me that he can get a 150 yards of 50lb Brade on the smaller sized reels in either model.
