Re: Used boat taxes?

You will "eventually" get a notice requesting you to tell them what you paid for the boat and they will expect their tax submission.
I've gotten them twice for two different boats. One seemed to be around a year after the transaction, the other maybe 3 months.

Re: skootamatta, big gull, kennebec -where would you go?

That's the problem with Crotch this time of year, it's a 'draw-down' lake and they pretty much drain it in the fall. They call it the 'toilet tank' of the Mississippi.      Glad you enjoyed Big Gull, if you only spent 2 hours there you've only scratched the surface, ...

Re: Crotch Lake Boat Launch access?

Why would you want to launch at the North end?? That launch is crap even when the water is high, way worse this time of year. :P Public launch at south end is much better, should be easy to see the sign labelled "Crotch Lake Access Road", plenty of parking, last time I was there it w...

Re: prop expert????

Lots of different factors involved, rake angle, thickness of blades, cupping , type of metal alloy, etc., etc. :? :? You have to research specs of each prop individually. :( Mindboggling for the most part, you really have to try props individually under varying circumstances and also dependi...

Re: skootamatta, big gull, kennebec -where would you go?

Skoot and Gull can kick out some decent waves depending on the wind. Another lake to throw in the mix would be Crotch. Guys say there's no walleye in there, but I've always had awesome success. Very beautiful lake that always reminds me of LOTW. Sand (Plevna) lake is decent too, there is a channel ...

Re: skootamatta, big gull, kennebec -where would you go?

Kennebec is the smallest, only ever fished it once, had a ball with the Bass, but didn't see any Wallys. :| Skootamatta is mid size, only fished that once as well with my Walleye Club, they were pretty scarce, but a beauty of a lake. Caught Bass & Pike as well. :) Big Gull is the biggest. Awesom...

Re: Best reel for lures other than baitcasting

Not sure what price range he's looking at, but that Stradic is more than double the Pfleugers I mentioned. I agree the Shimano upper levels are great reels, but sometimes a person's budget doesn't warrant the cost. 8) Says the guy fishing GLoomis rods! ;) :D 8-) Touche!! But ...

Re: Cabelas... Whatchya Think?

Only good thing about going last night was the 25% off, saved just north of $80. :D 8) Other than that, nothing to rave about, if not for the 25% off, no spectacular deals whatsoever. :( Only REAL benefit for me is that it's less than 10 minutes from home/work (might not be a benefit to my ne...

Re: Palmerston Lake Fishing?

If you're talking about the public launch, I believe what you call the 'north' end of the lake would be the same as what we're referring to as the 'east' end, never really pulled out the compass! LOL  That 'creek' actually flows into Canonto, but I digress. Be careful going from the la...

Re: Palmerston Lake Fishing?

No Walleye in there, but plenty of Bass & Lakers. :) We spent last Labour Day weekend up there (2015), and although I don't have the gear or patience to fish Lakers we would see the regulars early each morning and early each evening fishing a long deep shoal and saw them land a few over the 4 da...
