This time of year you will not have much luck with larger Pike but there are a lot of options. As mentioned the Ottawa River is a good choice. Muskrat Lake up at Cobden is not too busy. Calabogie Lake is not too busy. Big Gull Lake is a good one to hit. Lake Kashawakamak has a good Pike population. ...

This really worries me as our history of preventing invading species is not very good (correct me if I am wrong). All that is stopping them is an electric fence? that does not give me very much hope as you will get power outages at least once or twice a year. These things got out in '99 and have spr...

It must be nice to have a grandfather with his own lake. I would love to fish a private Bass lake.

I would start with spinner baits to look for areas of good populations and then switch to Senkos and Tubes.

Those BC Rainbows sure are beautiful fish.

You are one lucky man. If I was to do a fishing trip for my honeymoon the divorce would have followed soon there after. Although we did go Chinook Salmon fishing for a day off the west coast.

You can buy weedless spoons but I would try a spinner bait. In black or white will word for pike. Spinner baits are good as they only have one hook tilted upwards to you will get less weeds.

Great catch and great pictures.

I would say that that beats a Bass and especially since you were not targeting it.

Re: Fishing late notice

This reply is too little too late I'm sure, but what the heck. Just finished an interview and thinking about quickly heading out to Constance Lake to check out midday pike from shore :S Thought I'd reply just in case! I'm new here and trying to find the spots around Kanata way. Give me a shout if y...

On the map where you see the yellow circle with the 2 walleye lines is the location that I see most people fish. It is a very shallow shoal surrounded by a drop off on three sides. Also fish the drop off opposite the launch all the way along the wall that goes down from the damn. There is one island...
