Re: Need help finding a spot for drop shotting on rideau

There is a deep hole just north of Kelly's Landing around the Manotick Marina that is sure to hold Walleye. Several years ago got a 7 pounder in there fishing for bass.

Re: fishing with kids in ottawa

Some west end locations for you. If you don't mind the drive just west of Arnprior off of River Rd. is the Sand Point lighthouse which is on an old wharf built out into the river. I have been a few times and have always caught something. You will get catfish for sure but may get Walleye, bass, pike ...

Walleye Spot Recomendation

I am looking for a good Walleye lake or river to hit tomorrow. I'm in the west end so with easy drive from there and easy to get off the water in the dark. Typically I would go the the Lake Madawaska and launch at the airport but have been reading too much about theft and vandalism. Also the new fee...

Re: More Thievery in Arnprior

When I opened this thread I thought it would be a complaint about the parking fees which has turned me off of the Headpond but know it is scratched off my list this weekend as I don't need the expense of replacing stolen and broken items.

Re: White Lake bass opener and a warning

Good to hear you had a good day but if you are willing to share what were the bass hitting on in White Lake?

I am taking my 11 year old a couple times over the next week and White Lake is on my list and want to try and keep him entertained.

Re: Bass Opener

Bass opener??? I will be a my 4 year old's dance recital on Saturday. Woo-hoo. Sunday for Father's day my dad and I will be walleye fishing. Bass opener has lost its appeal to me uite a few years ago. I get your point but for me I can catch Bass. I would prefer to go Walleye fishing but Walleye are...

Re: Bass Opener

I will be on Big Rideau, for the OVSB tourney. And a couple of other suggestions for bow: Ottawa River - Fitsroy Harbour.- Awesome, free launch - It's gorgeous, species a plenty, and lots of different bays to explore. The current can get a little hairy in points, but it is only temporary. Calabogie...

Re: Bass Opener

Thank you for all of the input. I will likely stick with what I know and hit the Miss latter in the day for bass and then switch to Walleye in the evening to see if I can coax any up. Maybe I will hit Appleton on Sunday for a few hours.

Good luck and stay cool and hydrated this weekend.

Re: Bass Opener

Places I fished last year that were fun were muskrat and Lower Beverly. Map chips are not available for either but if you look hard enough, you can find some online. I will definitely be going back to both of these water bodies sooner or later as I had a blast on both. Oh, and to answer your questi...

Re: Bass Opener

Well, Shootout is on Mississippi on Sunday, so I assume there will be a lot of boats on that lake on Saturday pre-fishing. BAA is on White Lake on Saturday with 32 boats. Rideau @ Kars is a good option, but with the weather, I'm betting you'll see a LOT of big cruisers around throwing wakes at you....

Bass Opener

Where is everyone going to this Saturday for the bass opener on Zone 18? I usually hit Mississippi Lake, White Lake or Rideau at Kars but wanting to try somewhere new. The wife and kids are going out of town this weekend so I have the time to experiment on a new location. When the kids are on board ...

Opener Question

It has been some time since I have posted and since there has been many changes to the site I thought I would make my way back to see if things have improved. My question is if you had one lake or river to hit for the Pike or Walleye opener which one would it be. I am looking for something within 45...

I would go with Lake Madawaska. IT is my favorite lake. The main species fished are Muskie and Walleye. SM Bass are pretty much overlooked but there are some good ones in there. They say there is no Pike in there but I catch them.
