I found this website that has information on fishing in Cuba from travellers. I actually hooked up with a guy from Toronto through that site. We shore fished from our resort on Cayo Ensenachos. We caught a few small fish with some shrimp from the resort. We both brought spinning gear. Besides bookin...

Thanks for the link.

Hey Joco, As you know I've got 2 inflatable pontoon boats I would like to trade in or sell so I could buy a kayak. I would like to tryout a few models, maybe fish from them before I buy. I thought the end of the season (fall) would be the best time to buy but I would be interested in a group buy. Ke...

Fly Fishing Rods and Reels

Hi,

I was just clearing out my storage room to make room for 2009's new fishing gear. Something to do during the winter. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know, I posted some items for sale in the classified forum here.

Thanks.

Hi Bobber,

I bought a float tube recently and a pair of fins by Caddis. When the soft water arrives and if you pass them around for a number of reviews, I'll try them and compare them with mine. Another reason to go fishing...yes

Joco, you're a wealth of info. I had no idea some kayaks had holes or that you could stand up as well. I'm definitely going to try some kayaks this summer. Maybe we can get together and you can try my pontoon boat.

Thanks for the thread.

Welcome aboard Sleeve. I took my son up to Nipissing for ice fishing and caught one on my tipup outside of the hut we rented. I laid it on the ice next to the hole and went to get my son to show him. When we got out of the hut, it had already walked back into the hole. He didn't believe me until I c...

If it is the same place I've been, there is a lamprey barrier on the property up stream from the road. I also fished the creek below the road and had someone stop to tell us that we could not fish there. I would think that if it is private proprty they should post a sign. Has anyone ever checked wit...

I was there last Sunday afternoon. There were fishermen on the east pier and along the banks below the railroad bridges. There was only a little ice along the banks. The river was flowing high, dirty and free. The action appeared slow along the banks but out on the pier I saw 2 steelhead caught in 1...

Hey Cast-a-way, I checked out the river mouth this past weekend. There were people on the pier and along the banks. The river was high and murky. Below the railroad bridge, there did not seem to be much action. I drove out the west pier and there were only anglers on the east pier. In 10 minutes I s...

Joco,

Just think of the 10wt fly rod you want to get and the pike season coming soon. Soon as the snow melts in my back yard, my 14ft boat gets rolled out for some TLC and maybe a new front casting platform.

:( Cheer up Joco :)

Hey Joco, Are you still looking for a 10 wt rod? I've got a Fenwick HMG 9' 10wt that I'm willing to part with. I've got a 10' 10wt that I use for salmon fishing. I'm using a Redington RS2 9/10 fly reel with it that I'm thinking of upgrading. The rod has been used maybe twice and reel, 3 times. If yo...

Does anyone know if the you can take the boat operator exam at this show? Would it be the same situation as I've seen before, where you write the exam and only pay if you pass?
