Walleye Cam
I had to turn the sound off, that gurgling water was communicating directly with my bladder.
Definately a fair number of suckers along with the 'eyes but good numbers of fish.

Reel maintenance
Your link actually took me to an ad (Mock MMA fight with the rod.) for the new Shimano Voltaeuse rod. Its actually pretty funny because at the Toronto Sportsman show on Friday, Bob Izumi snapped one in half while showing us how flexible and indestructible it was. He mumble something about how he pro...

Orillia Perch Festival
Thanks for the encouragement Wolfe and you are correct, Orillia is Gordon Lightfoot's home town. Perhaps a bit of karma kicks in here since I will ge going to see Lightfoot here in Ottawa the week before the perch festival opens. You are also correct about Lake Couchiching, Orillia appears to sit on...

Orillia Perch Festival
The festival starts around the 16th of April and runs through to early May. I'm thinking of giving this a go as my wife has to be in Barrie on business that first week and I can stay with her at the hotel for free. It will also give me an opportunity to scope out Simcoe. Is there anyone on the board...

I'd have to go with Seaweed on this. Early season before boating starts up and late season (November) once the boating winds down should be fine, just check at the office on the way in.
It's a busy launch during the season I believe they post "No Fishing" notices.

Crotch Lake
The two lodges on Crotch are Land O Lakes and Tumblehome. I don't know if either accept pets but you can check their sites. I have definately seen dogs at both but I think they belong to the owners.

Road Trip
We'll be doing the same trip on a more liesurely pace. Kingston to Bass Pro on friday, spend the night and then hit the show on saturday.
Not that I really need too much in the way of gear but my buddy is considering a new boat and I need to be there to support him.

Fish shops
Go on a tour. I live in Orleans but when I go to Kingston or points west I like to do a loop down Hwy 15 and hit Bait Casters and Bennetts and back up 31(?) through Winchester and see Ed at Paddletales or the other way round. I realize Paddletales is out of your way but definately worth the trip. Of...

Lowrance 520
I'm running a 510 straigth sonar with a Lowrance H20C with a Navionics chip, mounted beside it. Anyhow, I'd be interested in learning how to get more out of them if the timing and cost is right.

Storing Gulp alive.
There are some good ideas out there but here's one I haven't seen listed yet.
A buddy of mine asked his doctor for some urine sample jars. You know, the ones with the orange lids.
He has 1/2 a dozen or so and simply takes what he needs for each trip leaving the bags and larger containers at home.

Opener
I have the boat if someone wants to get out for trout or crappie, other then that we will do the May 1&2 opener on the BOQ. My wife is in Barrie for the second week of May. I haven't checked the local regs but may tag along for some spring pannies on Simcoe while she works. I'll be in Florida an...

Orcas stealing fish
Wow that is pretty cool. I lost about a 30 lb salmon to a seal while fishing the Straits of Georgia near Parksville a few years ago. The seal took the fish just as the captain was about to net it. I think I could live with losing a fish to an Orca just to see them that close. I wonder if it knew not...
