Steelhead fly-fishing locations?

As an east coaster I've been an avid atlantic salmon fly-fisherman all of my life. I still get back to the east coast for a week or so every summer to fish, but given that I live in Ontario now I'd love to try my hand at fishing for steelhead on the fly. I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advi...

Re: Where to go for Lakers in Quebec?

Thanks - Appreciate the feedback smitty!

Just one question - You said that "the minimum size has now been reduced to 45cm/17.72in."

Doe this mean that you're not allowed to keep any fish that is smaller than 45cm/17.72in? You're only allowed to keep large fish (those over 45 cm)?

Where to go for Lakers in Quebec?

I'm new to fishing for Lake Trout but I have a kayak and I want to get out as soon as the season opens to have a try at catching some Lake Trout. I'm specificially looking at the lakes on the Quebec side, north of the city. The thing is I'm not sure which lakes are known as being good lakes for lake...

Fisher4life I don't want to get into a tit for tat with you on where (and if) there is indeed a place to launch a boat on lac grand (to access lac vert) but if it is so easy to locate why won't you post an image of where the launch is located (using google maps). Better yet, you could always just pr...

lac Ste. Marie

Hey Zimbo

I was thinking of checking out lac Ste. marie myself sometime. What type of fish are generally caught in there? Is it mostly lake trout or are there other species (such as bass) in there as well?

Thanks

Rideau River Boat Launches - Barretts Rapids

Hi folks Myself and a buddy were thinking of fishing the Rideau River tomorrow morning (mostly for bass, but wouln't be opposed to hooking into a musky or pike either) and I'm just looking for some advice on public boat launches in that area? Last year I fished around the Barretts Rapids (not sure i...

lac vert boat launch

Fisher4Life Could you please just give us some directions on how to find the launch (even a PM will satisfy me)??? I've been reading this thread for the past two days and I am no closer to knowing how to find it! And I don't care what anyone says, the boat launch location is by no means obvious. Mys...

Misadventures attempting to fish Lac Vert!

After reading this post last week myself and a couple of friends decided that we would hook up the boat and trailer and head up to Lac Vert for the first time to have a try at our luck. Well lets just say that it was not a very productive day as were unable to find the launch anywhere! We drove to t...

Thanks for the tips everyone. 24/7, there was a little chop on the water, but it was intermittent with calm periods and it was overcast all evening. We were fishing in probably 5 - 10 FOW. The fish did seem spooky, but at the same time I had at least 8 or 10 good rises (but just one hookset). As I s...

Bassin - Top Water Frustration...Any Advice?

Myself and a couple of fishing buddies hit Constance Lake yesterday evening for a couple hours of fishing. I was using my favourite skitterpop (something like a hulapopper) and despite getting tons of topwater bass action (i.e. swirls around the hook, sucking the hook in without breaking the surface...

Hey Scotty The only place that I know of (but have yet to fish) is the Diable River in Mont Tremblant. However, I understand that a 3 km stretch of the river is reserved for fly fishing only (which is great for me, but maybe not so great for you). If you do a search for Mont Tremblant fishing in Goo...
