Fishing Crotch Lake

Hi, I'm posting because I want to clear up something about the fishing regs. I'm going camping at crotch lake and I was going to bring along my fishing rod, but I was wondering what would be in season up there? I read in the ontario fishing regs that pike and walleye are not in season until the thir...

Well we were mostly jigging. We did cast in some shallow spots as well. We used everything from topwater, to deep divers to jigs to spinners and we even used real worms. We got a couple bites jigging real worms but really the bites would happen maybe twice a day. We did manage one smallie, not very ...

Now that I think of it, that blackish fish that spat me out might have been a trout. I was fishing today at a small pond near my home and I managed 2 small trout. They almost looked the exact same as the fish that spat me out.

joco,

You can get stung by catfish? :o I had no idea. I catch bullheads all the time at a local park. I usually wear a wet glove though.

Crotch Lake Report

We were pretty much skunked. I couldn't believe how slow the bite was. We pulled in 1 little smallie, a sunfish and a couple perch. It was very disappointing. We tried many different spots, but we never made it to Fawn Lake. I don't know what the reason was, but the water level had dropped substanti...

Thanks Legend. Yes I have printed out that map. I'm hoping to try the narrows, and northern areas of the lake. If the bite is slow, we may consider heading into Fawn Lake. Will tell you our results upon return.

Camping at Crotch Lake

Hello. We are going to be leaving early Friday to do some camping/fishing at Crotch Lake. We have been there plenty of times, for scouting and swimming. Everytime we go out there, we have always been skunked. This time we are going strictly for walleye using jigs in deep water. Lately I have been su...

Fishing Canonto Lake

I was out today on Canonto lake with my father, and were planning to meet friends to look at some cottages. We didn't do much fishing, but while we waited for our friends to arrive, we casted a couple. Being our first time at the lake, we didn't know the spots, but as we were scouting, we found a ni...

Canonto lake

Canonto lake is where we are heading out tomorrow morning. What kind of fish will I find here? What will I most likely be able to catch, and is it a deep lake? Thx.
