I did mine at the Toronto sportsman show last year... If I'm not mistaken it was cheaper than taking it online, and if you didn't pass, you didn't pay. I aced it no problem... Heck, my mom even passed, and she's never driven a boat in her life. Pretty easy stuff... most of it's common sense. Helps i...

When I went portaging in Algonquin, we used the iodine tablets. Not sure where to get them... we got ours off the portaging outfitter. Shouldn't be too hard to find them. We used them to treat the lake water. I didn't really notice and difference in taste, but then again, we were mixing the water wi...

I think this site is great the way it is! There's a lot of good conversation that takes place regarding fishing regulations, conservation, proper handling, etc.. that I probably would have never known, had I not been a member of this site. And, had I not had the chance to "lurk" here, I pr...

I have to agree with you there! The visual I've got is pretty funny, anyway.

But seriously, I hope they nail him to the wall.

Re: walleye/pike opener

I don’t know if I should jump the gun and do it on the opener or wait a couple weeks for warmer weather I don't have any experience fishing the Ottawa, but I can tell you that come May, I'll be chompin at the bit to get out in the boat and sink my hooks in to some toothy critters... why wait, if ...

Couldn't of said it better myself Wader! Actually there's been a lot of good discussion around this topic. Excellent thread, in my opinion. I don't usually have much to say, but I'm slowly but surely trying to crawl my way out of "lurker" status… Not sure if I would really call myself a ...

Thanks for the tips guys! I guess I'll just have to keep digging... Wolfman- Yes, I'll be fishing in White Lake. I've caught some real dandy's there before. Actually, there used to be a group of people that would come up and catch literally hundreds of them. Not sure if they still do or not... It wa...

Never tried it myself... can't say I hadn't thought about it though.
How would you rig them anyway? Texas? Carolina? or Wacky?

Can't see why they wouldn't work?!?! I've heard of stranger things. Like my buddy who caught a monster pike with a Smartie.

Bullhead Fishing

Heading up to open the trailer the first week of May this year...
With Pike and Bass season closed, that doesn't leave me with a lot of options.
Was thinking of giving Bullhead a go, but don't know the first thing about them.
Anybody know of any good websites that could aid me with my research?
