I would assume you can get the tablets there - but I'm not sure. We actually went through a portaging outfitter in the park, and that's where we got them from. I think I've seen them at Crappy-Tire though... Hadn't heard the no bottle rule. I know no glass bottles are allowed. hmmm... good to know. ...

I'm sure they're already on your list - but I can't stress enough the importance of a compass, and a good map (waterproof). Also, plan on drinking A LOT of water. When I was a young pup, 4 of us set out on a 5 day trip, portaging through algonquin. We had a pretty ambitious route planned, and about ...

Looks like you had a good weekend. Nice pics.
Haven't seen many pike much bigger than that in a few years. Pretty average size... from what I've seen lately anyway.
Haven't been out on the lake yet this year... :(
Was hoping to this past weekend, but wasn't feeling well.

...The point is, if you're smart enough to put a hook on a line, then you should be smart enough to know what you might be catching. But seriously, how smart DO you need to be to put a hook on a line? To do it "legally" - apparently if you know how to spell your name, you're good to go! I...

Thanks everyone for the input! plncrzy - Thanks for the advise. While I don't think we'd have trouble finding guys that'd be interested, we're concerned about getting people who are SERIOUSLY interested. The fear is having to cancel because someone bails at the last minute. But that's not to say tha...

Monster pike - trip planning

In the process of planning a trip for 2011. Looking for that fishing trip of a lifetime experience… Been all over the net looking at different outfitters, and honestly - it's more overwhelming than I'd ever imagined. There's hundreds of them… and they all promise the same thing. Like everyone, I...

Thanks wolfe!

I'm afraid they don't get much bigger than that in that lake...
I'm sure some of the members here can attest to that.

I've seen a few 6 and 7 pounders over the years... But never one over 8.

Just what is "proper" fishing attire anyway??

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I enjoyed writing it almost as much as I enjoyed the vacation… almost. It's been almost two weeks since the trip, and despite the festivities that took place afterwards, I still remember pulling in that walleye like it was yesterday. Cyber - I certainly wouldn'...

To me he seemed pretty broad across the shoulders... 15" girth.
Would that be considered skinny?

Ty's Annual Fishing Trip - 2009

I don't share much here… I'm more of a weekend warrior… or actually probably more of a long-weekend warrior. The only time I really get to go fishing is when I'm vacationing at my trailer. I do however, like to pop in here from time to time and read the fish stories. I like to share stories when...

I'm glad to hear Derek and the gang are out there in full force trying to prevent mistakes from anglers who might need new glasses or possibly new measuring tapes 8) Not sure who Derek is, but I'll second that anyway! And for those who haven't been able catch a walleye in White Lake - don't feel so...
