The smelt specimen you use must be faultless. Any deviation from the norm, will be rejected by the finicky Pike. Every scale must be intact! Of course I'm joking. It doesn't matter. Yup, that'l work.
You'll outfish anyone using minnows.

The BOQ is relatively shoal free heading out from the ramps. Depending on where you launch.

I would spend 10 minutes at a bait shop and buy a map. Most will show the hazards.

Thanks for sharing an invaluable tip. This type of info can be instrumental in putting fish in the boat. I can remember dragging a jig behind the boat around the Belleville bridge. It was a windy day that increased the current flow. I was one of a few people that day that was consistently catching f...

Nice Report.

I used to paddle a canoe 5 miles out to Garden Island out from Cache Bay on Lake Nipissing. The scenery looks very peaceful as you described it.

Daver's got it 100%.

That's exactly what I've been doin' for 30 years of ice fishing.
Just ensure that your boots are a size (or two) larger to accommodate the extra fillin' the inserts take.
