I saw a guy in a canoe/kayak on the muskrat river just north of muskrat lake where the bridge on hwy 17 is. The Lake is still covered with ice though. All this sunshine is melting it very fast. I hope they weren't fishin' Muskrat River - Renfrew County, from Hwy. 17 downstream through the City of P...

This is what I use exclusively for storage of my soft plastics. I also keep them in their original packaging for an extra bit of protection: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_37109_100011010_100000000_100011000_100-11-10 thanks for the tip DropShot'r, that's a ...

Hi Sheldon, I noticed on the sportsman show website that you're giving seminars -- I'm looking forward to it since 'eyes are a big mystery to me, and I'm gonna try targeting them this spring a bit.

Thanks!

Re: Binder

I buy worm binders for them. For example I have just purchased an additional 4 Calcutta Tackle Binders that are 8.5” X 10.5” X2.5” Where do you get those, and how much are they? I use the freezer-lock bags that come with frozen pogos (the bag is probably easier to digest) But I hate tr...

I find that happens is that I do that and then I start reeling it in then I stop and check again if it goes squirley and most of the time it does so I flip the spool again then again. I have the same experience. I suspect that for the line not to go squirrelly, the diameter of the spool needs to be...

I imagine that drinking while driving a boat increases the chances of death, regardless of the surroundings. I'm just guessing, but I bet there are statistics to support that. Secluded lake, no alcohol, chance of death = x. Secluded lake, alcohol, chance of death = y. y>x Busy lake, no alcohol, chan...

For me it'll be lake trout, then pike/walleye once that season opens, then bass for the rest of the summer, then after bass season back to pike/walleye

Open ice on Muskrat Lake is supposed to happen by April 15, according to one other FH'er on here... :D

I like to go here and make a topo map:

http://www.lio.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/index.html

and try to extrapolate the terrain around the lake to the lake bottom.

Hope to hear a report from Grippen! :)
