By the way, those links above are good but things change over time. Heck, I posted in one of them and have changed my glases since. Had you not asked again, I would not have been able to recommend my new Maui Jims to you!

Re: Best Polarized Sunglasses?
I've recently upgraded to Maui Jims and I'm extremely happy with them. The MJ sunglasses I bought, World Cup, came with the HCL bronze glass lens. Super nice, super clear. If you're looking for something that takes all the glare off the water, these are what you are looking for. Costly yes...but qua...

My understanding is that Mississippi Lake's community association attempts to have the markers out by May long weekend.

Re: When does pike fishing pick up
Not sure what else it could have been? seemed pretty torpedo shaped to me It's tough to see from the photo, but if I'm looking at a needle-like nose on the left, you caught yourself a Gar (as opposed to a Northern): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gar E I think the "needle-like nose" you're ...

Re: Solo boat launching?
I was in your position just about the same time a year ago. I even posted the same request for advice as you did! :D Lots of useful info above that does not need repeating. I'll just add my tips: - practice when the launch is not busy. Saturday morning is the wrong time to learn! I went out by mysel...

Re: LF entry level boat
still in the hunt ... seems there are some decent rigs on Kijiji and a few at local marina's. Prices fluctuate like crazy. Here's my question ... as a total novice marine tech, how do I know/verify that the motor is in good working order? I've seen a few boats that I'd like to take a poke at, but I...

Re: Who's a tier and who is a snapper?
I'm both. I tie soft plastics, jigs, frogs and spinnerbaits. I use a snap for.hard plastics. Thank you for the tip on the Fastach...I'll be picking some of those up soon! I've often wondered the impact to the snap of the frequent opening and closing of it. Might be weakening it. Also, the small snap...

New fishfinder in the boat this year: Humminbird 899ci hd si combo. Lots of learning ahead for me. As well, I'm looking forward to trying the new Keitech Swing Impact Fat swimbaits. Seen a lot of praise for these on Youtube. Had to order these from the states...wish I could have found them in Canada.

It would be interesting to know if the size/age of the fish caught also played a role in the stress levels achieved.

Re: mystery tackle box
Part of the the fun is picking out tackle! I leave the mystery to my kids when they buy me tackle on my birthday! Neat concept...but after awhile i could imagine having a bunch of useless lures that never get wet. I do like watching Flukemaster's YouTube channel where he attempts to catch a fish on ...

Re: Too tired
I don't have any guilt about chores not getting done on the weekends. Those tend to get done during the week. As well, I've got enough fishing buddies (including my boys and my brother) to drag my sorry butt out of bed. My biggest challenge is giving up the opportunity of sleeping-in for being on th...

Too tired
The plan today was to awake at 4:30am, get ready and make the hour long trek out to the lake...fishing to commence before 6am. I like beating the ramp traffic and getting those early bites. Eyes open at 5:30am with my son at my bedside asking why I was not up yet and gone. <Yoda's voice> Too tired, ...
