Re: Looking for some info
As mentioned earlier, ProCrafts are a solid and reliable fishing platform. But you're still looking at a 17 year old boat and motor.... - ProCrafts haven't been manufactured for quite some time now (actually one ProCraft per year is built for trademark reasons but it's a Nitro Z7 with ProCraft stick...

Re: Choosing the right trolling motor
After installing the 3 bank system I realized that I won't be able to hook up to the charging battery. Two different types of batteries which will only create havoc with the system. My MK330PC is only using two of the three banks right now but I have room for a third hookup if I can find some more ...

That's an awesome weekend.
I'll take a weekend of crappie and mean-azz bluegills over a weekend of snot rockets every day of the week.

Re: 4 weeks to go!
No last minute tackle buys but I did buy a few new rods and reels in the spring..... All the reels are spooled because Ed does it when you buy one.
My season will start on Quinte this year and since I don't know the waters all that well, I'll probably be buzzing a Rage Toad off the shorelines.

Re: Trip to Corry Lake, ON
There are several good smallie waters around Corry Lake. Getting into numbers of 4+ lbers in July can be a little daunting but boat loads of 2-3 lb'ers are easy to come by. I live in the area so send me a PM or email through Fish-Hawk as your trip draws closer and we'll see what we can do about sync...

Re: Ottawa River - La Passe area
McKay Chutes are where the whitewater rafting tours begin their journey. Super strong current above the rapids. The side of Sullivan Island the current is fine but as you head towards the dam, there is a huge rock in the middle of the river. Last I checked there was a white jug on it. You can Quite ...

Re: Muskrat Lake algae bloom?
Nope. Was there last Friday and while it was better than it was a few weeks earlier, it's still green enough that you can't see down much more than a foot.Grey_Thunder wrote:Anyone know if the lake has cleared yet? Hoping the colder nights have killed off that algae...

Re: Quick question - Pike
For pike, I use cheap lures and no leader. I rarely lose a lure to pike teeth, most of the time it's a crappy knot or a nick in the line.

Re: Thoughts on motor extended product protection
It's a tough call to be sure but I tend to think along the lines of lape0019 - big HP motors cost way more to fix/replace than smaller HP motors. I extended the warranty on a 250HP Yamaha SHO to the 6 years but I didn't extend the warranty on a 150HP Merc Opti 2-stroke to 5 years. That said, if this...

Re: Humminbird Lakemaster auto chart??
While AutoChart LIVE is awesome for the units that have it built-in, you can also create maps using AutoChart Pro which is a software program that turns sonar recordings into maps. AutoChart Pro comes with a Zero Lines card.

Re: Opinions on boats wanted..
$30K is a good chunk of change.....
Size of boat?
Size and brand of engine? 2 stroke or 4 stroke?
What's the earliest model year you want to go?
Are you comfortable spending the whole $30K or do you really want to spend less than that?

Re: Minn Kota Talon
On your Lund, I'd bolt directly. You have a big splashwell that you can easily drill through well above the water line and you can easily add a backing plate on the inside of the splashwell for additional strength. The only thing you really need to worry about is making sure you install far enough a...

Re: Looking to add a jackplate - need advice
If you have cable steering, you can usually do a 6" JP without any issues. More than that, you'll probably need to install new cables or hydraulic steering.
