Re: Screening of "What Lies Below"

We just featured the doc in Thunder Bay last weekend and Mr. Gord Ellis took in the film. He posted the following piece on CBC Radio North http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/thunder-bay/outdoor-column-what-lies-below-1.4079421 Later this week a Blue Fish Radio interview with Gord will go live that we rec...

ORWL Fishes Centennial Lake -- Kicker Report

The Ottawa Region Walleye League uses combined length of top 5 walleye to determine event and season winners, photographed and released on the spot. I caught this 26.5 inch tank of a Walleye on a gold and silver worm harness behind a bottom bouncer in 22 feet of water. My Shimano Compre 8’3” telesco...

Re: Downloadable fishing radio shows/podcasts

Hi, I've been producing the Blue Fish Radio show for the past couple years featuring knowledgeable people about fish and fishing. Not so much a "how to catch more fish" kind of show, but more about what people are doing to make sure there are actual fish to catch. It plays each week on WRV...

Re: Carp fishing questions?

I've been chasing Carp on the St. Lawrence for almost ten years now and my biggest is 33lb. I've met folks that have caught fish over 50lb, and others who have caught more than 80 in one day. With the size of fish, zebra muscles, and need to maintain some control from shore, I always use a 12-foot r...

Re: Provincial Bait Policy Review

I believe Quebec has a no live minnow rule in effect. I understand that even if you launch on the Ontario side of the Ottawa River with live minnows and then get caught fishing with them on the Quebec side of the river you can be charged.

Summer Job Fishing Guide with the CNIB Lake Joseph Centre

In 2013 the CNIB Lake Joseph Centre was donated a fully equipped 1800 Lund Alaskan fishing boat powered with a 75hp Mercury. Shimano donated eight spinning combos, Humminbird a sounder, Minn Kota a Terrova, BPS a bunch of tackle, and Gordon's Bay Marina rigged the boat. As a member of the Lake Joe's...

Hey Shawn, good job -- Chuck is a great guy -- fished with him a few times as well. You even managed to beat Charles Sims and his partner, who finished 2nd. My partner for the day Frank and I came in 5th -- just one pound behind you guys. There were a total of 4 boats with 13lbs, 4 with 12lbs, and t...

I had just put together an 8' Oak board mounted on two 12" Scotty pedestals with six Scotty Orca rod holders (left the downriggers at home). With the flush mount rod holders on the gunnels we had no shortage of options, and Jim took advantage of them all with his various 6-rod configurations. A...

I've ordered a Terrova for the Blind Fishing Porta-Bote to go with the new casting platform Porta-Bote came out with this year. The platform includes a swivvle seat and a mount for a bow-mount trolling motor. I already have a Terrova on the bigger boat (20-foot power cat), which I will someday up-g...

That was one busy show Saturday and Sunday -- I don't think a single minute went by without someone stopping at my table -- almost wiped out my box of 500 braille cards -- each kid who trips the bite alarm gets a card with a short explanation on how Braille works. Thanks everyone for dropping by an...
