I'd be in for Pike / Muskie but it may be a little difficult for me to make a tying event in Ottawa. How about we have it here

I have been fishing with an extra large, very bright wooly bugger. Colours vary from shiny purple to yellow, to black to red and combinations of all of them. You have to tie them yourself.
Seems to work pretty well for pike.

Deceivers work pretty well too, but mice are the most fun.

Interestingly olive bead head woolly buggers have worked best for walleyes out here too, at least for me. Walleyes are good fun on the fly. But I have been using a 6 wt. because you never know when a 20lb pike will hit out here.

Great fish. That park is one of my favourite spots to fish in Eastern Ontario. It is amazing what a motor ban does for the fishing quality and the peacefulness!

Thanks for straightening out the issues yourselves on this thread everyone.

Sorry, I am a bit out of the area now, but I am sure someone will help out. You may want to check out the local fly clubs around you. They are full of great people.

Fly fishing for walleye

Well I finally got out for a real fishing trip here in SK. We went up to the Churchill River, for some canoeing and fishing. Before leaving I told my brother that I would be using my fly rod for walleye. "You'll never catch anything up there with a fly rod". The fishing was good for both o...

Boars are not native to North America and can cause severe damage to the ecosystem. Here's a news article from the CBC talking about their destructive activities and partially about the erradication attempts here in SK.
