Rideau River Ramps Open?

Anyone know if any of the Rideau River ramps in the Manotick, Kars or North Gower area are usable?

I never knew that holding the fish by their jaws in certain ways is bad for them. It would be good if someone who is knowledgeable on this subject to create a post or article for this that included some pics of how-to and how not to hold a fish.

Great fishing Nodie!

Cheers!

Sounds like an awesome day out on the water... sure beats work I'm sure! I've never caught a Walleye in the Rideau but I'm gonna have to try one of these days!

Cheers!

Hey everyone, Hit the Rideau again last night with a friend and once again I was determined to fish the weeds. We found a spot that had a lot of pad "patches" but there was also room to maneuver between the patches. With the information I got here last week I knew I had to work my plastics...

What kind of frogs were you using? I have Berkley Kicker Frogs and so far haven't had any success with them. I don't know if it's my technique or if these frogs just don't work.

Thanks for all the responses! I think I was definitely working the baits to fast, and not letting them sink down... that was probably a big part of my problem. I'll definitely have to me more patient on the next outing. I did try the edges after getting really frustrated in the slop but I wasn't hav...

Fishing the weeds

Hi everyone, I hit the Rideau river last night in the Kemptville area. Over the past few weeks I've been reading articles etc. on how to fish the weeds for largemouth. I bought and rigged some of the equipment: texas-rigged power worms with bullet sinkers, texas-rigged tubes, and flipping jigs. I wa...

Thanks for the replies guys!

Almontefisher, although I'm a computer geek by day I have discovered that fishing is a great activity to totally get away from my keyboard! So don't despair and get that brother of yours out on the water!
