Re: Pontiac Sunfire and towing a boat?

It definitely can be done. I pulled my 14' with a 20hp around for years with a Sentra. Eventually the transmission exploded, but I didn't treat her with that much respect over the years, so I wouldn't blame it all on towing a boat haha. Just an FYI, RJ and orrsey make some great points... The Sentra...

Re: Underwater boat light

In Ontario it is illegal to use artificial lights to attract fish except when fishing for Rainbow Smelt, Lake Whitefish or Lake Herring (cisco) using a dip net or if the light is part of a lure attached to a line used in angling.

Re: no crappies yet

I've been getting them pretty much all month on lakes between Kingston and Sharbot Lake. Three pictures below are from May 5, May 18 & May 23. May 5 was fairly slow for numbers but very good for average size. Mainly casting into shallow water and banks with small light coloured plastics on 1/8 a...

Re: Loughborough Lake

Doug nailed it down for you pretty good there. It's a shoal lake and there's lots of them, some not on Navionics, so be careful. But fish the shoals, both species relate to them. You won't catch many giants, but they are in there. However, you'll do good for numbers. I'd focus on the east half for b...

Re: The crappie bite

You are on the money there RJ. I chase these things every Spring and usually by now things are winding down. They haven't even started yet on some of the Kingston & area lakes. Targeting two lakes so far, I've seen more big females than I've seen in years. It's crazy, and fun.

EG3, I don't stray too far from a handful of lakes in the Kingston area. Lots of opportunities around here.

Breaking the ICE!

Haven't posted in quite some time, but this brisk morning really got me thinking ice fishing. Can't wait! Speaking of which, if anyone sees a good deal on a gas/propane/electric auger in Kingston/Ottawa, let me know. The ol Jiffy isn't aging too well. Or if you are parting with an auger, PM me, I'm ...

Re: Sharbot lake - elbow lake

Elbow and Sharbot lakes are not connected, it's probably a 15 minute drive at the most between them along hwy 38 You may be thinking of Elbow outside of Parham? There is an Elbow Lake connected to Sharbot at the NE corner of Sharbot. I haven't done it in years, but we used to boat into Elbow. It do...
