Hi All, I was just giving my two cents, and not trying to "poo-poo" on anything. My point is that this is a forum and we're entitled to contribute our opinions, albeit if stated with humour (save for the part about "lurkers" funding terrorism - I see no humour in that whatsoever)...

Lurkers

WOW.....Is this an open forum or a witch hunt? I thought that's what forums are for; the sharing of information regardless if it is one-way or two-way. Now, we've got a name for people that take information but choose not to reciprocate? I know another name for them: researchers. What do you call pe...

Hola Dave, I've been to that spot in Cuba a couple times and actually fished in a lagoon area by my resort. I stayed at El Senador, which is now NH Krystal in 2003. I also stayed at Blau Colonial in 2007. I fished at Tryp Cayo Coco. There is a "guide" service that will provide you with pol...

20th Grand River Bass Derby

Hi All, Nice to hear the fly enthusiasts speak of their experiences recently. Down here on the Grand, the bass are smashing the wooly buggers. Usually black and brown suit their fancy best, and I've yet to trigger any kind of strike on olive colour. What can I say, chacon son vous. Me and the GrandR...

Are we still on this one? By the photo, I'd say no, but only b/c he's holding it in a manner that makes it look bigger than it probably is. However, if he says it's a 6lb by his own measurement. I'll take his word...

Good stuff Salar. It's always nice to see a fellow flyfisherman get into some trout. Dry season is just around the corner so I wish you continued success!

Interesting post. I find that Walleye or Pickerel as they are affectionately and erroneously refered to as around these parts, are difficult to catch. This is especially noticed in rivers that I fish on a regular basis. Throwing a whole assorment of bait at them is not necessarily the best solution ...

Crazy Fish From Hell - Found as Close to Here as Maryland

HI Hawkers, I'm not sure if this is real or not but check-out the link below to this wierd looking "Gangster Fish" or "Frankenfish". Apparetly on land it can stand up and walk from one body of water to another. Unbelievable. And if you catch one of these monsters, kill it right a...

Wow, what a selection of baits. With no offence to the Native American's that use this site, but I believe in the saying "that it's not the arrow, it's the Indian". So throwing the chatter bait into dodgy water might produce some unexpected glee. In my case, I've tossed husky jerks into fl...

Recommend An Easy Fly to Tie - Anyone?

Hello Brothers of the Fly,

I'm just getting into tying my own flies and do not wish to waste a lot of material getting "good" at tying. So I'm here to see if anyone can recommend an easy fly to start off with or link me to a good online resource for fly tying.

keep it reel,

Shimano Combo

Hi Hawkers, I'm looking for a little advice on some gear. I've got a bunch VISA points and the items I'm looking at is a Shimano Sonora Reel with Sojoura Rod (or a new punching bag). Has anyone had a chance to use either of these Shimano products? I have a price on them from CT and they sound like t...

Big Jim,

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Get well and put as to shame with all the big fish you pull out of the water. Congratulations on winning the rubber glove lottery. Thanks for all the advice over the past year.

Be well,

Not to stir the pot, but thanks for that Rob. There's funny, then there's funny in poor taste. I imagine he would've gotten away with that nickname if he didn't say, "this is my new nickname, I'm so funny." It is a pretty clever nickname, but inapproriate all the same. Maybe Master_Caster ...
