Looking for info as well. Planning on heading up this weekend and hoping to gain access from Waterview Rd.

Re: Off to Nova Scotia

If you get a chance, consider going mackerel fishing. You can catch them with a rod and reel or jig them with a traditional hand line with 5 or 6 hooks (heavy lead-weighted hooks or multi-coloured streamers with a weight at the bottom of the line). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxjeZdz0Hgg&fea...

Evinrude XD-50 Oil

Anyone know where I can get the Evinrude XD-50 oil? I used to buy it at Benson's in Bell's Corners but they appear to be out of the marine business this year.

I found this season to be particularly tough for some reason. I am not sure why and I know it wasn't just me. Plenty of my other fishing buddies also said it was an tough bass season. I still have the rest of the day to change that. I better run and get the boat out of storage. There's still 15 hour...

What you need to do is load these maps into MapSource (the software that comes from Garmin). Once loaded you can export the areas you need to the GPS by highlighting them in mapsource and clicking on "Send To GPS". The 3.2GB of maps includes all of the topo data for all of Canada and is ma...

It comes with a 64MB Micro SD card which should give you enough capacity to load at least the whole province of Ontario topo maps. You can get the free topo maps at http://www.ibycus.com/ibycustopo/ Let me know if anyone has questions. I have loaded these maps on both the GPSMAP60 models and the Col...

Hey Matt, It really depends on what you want to use it for. There is a lot of hype about these two newer models, however, if you are just marking waypoints on a lake then the older models are just as (or in some cases more) accurate as these. What are your primary uses? Fishing, hiking, driving, geo...

What type of hook are you using?
I use a wide gap offset worm hooks and don't lose too many of them.
I've also just started to try out the Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap hooks. So far, so good but I'll reserve judgment on those hooks for later. I've only fished them for one day so far.

Re: Fenwick Highlander rod.

I have been looking all day to find out about this rod. I can't find any info on it any where, even on the fenwick web site. or the local tackle shop that sells fenwick has never heard of the highlander. The reason for looking so hard is, I was going to buy the eagle gt for $59.99, but this highlan...
