Great initiative Craig. This is exactly what this community needs. I'd think it may be of interest to the ORWL to dump the Ottawa that day to attend this....not a bad way to show your members what the secret walleye society is all about! Birdee and I will be there. RJ Thanks for the endorsement RJ....

Justin I suspect that what you have on your motor is an anode only and not a trim tab at all. On some outboards this is combined. The anode / trim tab is normally circular, with a fin and a single bolt allowing it to be rotated to achieve the trim or direct the water flow from the prop. An anode onl...

Thanks, guys - much appreciated.... Just went outside and had a look at the motor. What I see is a lead-coloured fixture that sits horizontally on the right side on the plate directly above the prop. It is approximately 1" by 1/2" and has two bolts holding it from the underside. I assume ...

Re: Walleye derbies in ottawa region??

I took part in the wendover walleye derby the past weekend (Great event by the way and very well organized) and I'm just wondering if there are any other derbies (Walleye preferably but any chance to get on the water is great) in the ottawa area. I'm not looking to drive very far, 2 or 3 hours of d...

An interesting question, but first you need to consider the transducer and electronics in use because they are not all made equal. I used to run a Lowrance X67C (factory install) on my boat and it worked great for trolling, but was useless over 10 - 15 MPH. When I upgraded to a LCX110C, it maintains...
