If you're heading up the 307 go about 4.5KM passed the bridge and the launch is on the right. There's a store across the street with a large parking lot that most people use. I heard the smallie population used to be a lot better. Only time I've consistently gotten on to any sort of smallie bite is ...

Captain Jackson is great. Good chances of hooking in to 10+ fish. Apparently they've had a great summer so far. Good idea with only a morning fish. Most good guides will recommend only a half day, after the morning bite slows down it gets real hot out there.

Good luck.

I threw a bachelor party for a buddy of mine last year and we rented from this guy on Lac Poisson Blanc. It's very private, he has 2 cottages on a 2 acre lot so if you're gonna be really loud you might want to rent both. Accommodations were great, the cottages are brand new. Dock was big enough for ...

Hey Pops... I'd love to call in a sick day on Friday but the girls need the truck so I'm without wheels. Unless you want to head north for some Quebexico Touladi and pick me up on the way, I'm out.

Take a look at SternMate. They make a transducer bracket that adheres on to the transom and offer all sort of different configurations for running multiple transducers. No experience with them but I'm going pick one up when I add the Structure Scan module to my HDS to avoid having to drill more hole...

I got the Minn Kota 3 bank 15A (MK-315) shipped to my door for about $200 duties and taxes included from Cabelas. I looked around a lot before ordering and the Minn Kota chargers consistently had the best reviews. Pretty sure Ed carries these at Paddletales too if you want to buy local.

I use a DepthTherm from Vexilar. You can get one for about $10. Shows you depth and temperature. Even comes with a chart showing preferred temps by species.

Georgia and the Hooch are both pretty broad areas. I've fished the river below Lanier/Buford dam around Atlanta and have pretty limited success. Without a float tube or some other watercraft, good fishing from shore is pretty limited in my experience unless you're willing to get your feet wet. Lake ...

Dual Purpose Batteries

I started having some issues with my main battery last year and I'm looking for some advice. I've recently upgraded the main sonar unit to an HDS-7 and after a long day on the water without running the motor a lot I can drain my cranking battery. Not sure if it was the sonar upgrade or maybe just ti...

I fish a lot with tubes and my faves are the "Bite Me" tube heads, I like the ones with the 60° Gamakatsu EWG Hook, the 60° Mustad Rnd Bend Hook work well too. I usually pick these up at BPS but you can order directly from their site too. http://www.bitemejigs.com/bite-me-jigs-online-sto...

Not sure about auger rentals. I'd have to guess probably not considering how easy it is to screw up the blades if you're not careful with them. Maybe renting a hut where the holes are drilled for you might be a cheaper intro to the sport rather than running out and buying all the gear. If you are go...

I was looking for one last year and ending up going with a Fish Trap but the one I was going to get was a Shappell. They sell some pretty heavy duty models as well as runners, hitches, and other accessories.

I was down there a couple weeks ago and used AJ's Freelancer Guide Service and fished out on lake Toho in the same chain. Toho caughs up a lot of 10+ fish every year. Capt. Jackson's been Guiding on Toho for 30+ years and knows his way around and where to find fish. Check him out at orlandobass.com.
