The easiest way to catch them is using a large jointed rapala with the hooks removed. You then attach gargetter?? (forget the actual name of hair) which comes on a ring to the tail hook. they never shake the lure and you just use small needle nose pliers to pull the hair out the gars teeth once caug...

Wow! :shock: I didn't realize there were so many puppies living amongst us. I think if I spent more time soaking the line after dark my time will come. I didn't realize there were so many puppies living among us. I Ttink if I spend more time soaking the line after dark it will increase my odds of catching one.

I was wondering if anyone has caught any mud puppies through the ice? A bud from work was fishing Nipissing on the weekend and he mentioned he saw one dead on the ice. Interesting looking critters.
