Re: Outboard problems.... no spark "help please"

I just went through something similar with a 15HP Evinrude 4 stroke. There is a single coil in the motor that fires both spark plugs. If your motor is similar and has 1 coil for both cylinders, I would start there. It is pretty cheap and easy to replace. I hope you didn't spend too much on the power...

Re: Rebuilding the transom on my Aluminum boat

You don't need marine plywood. If you have the $$$, go for it. Otherwise, just use a quality plywood from Home Depot. Usually it would be 1.5", so sandwich two pieces of plywood together. Use PL premium and screws. The important thing is to seal the plywood. I used West System epoxy, 3 coats pe...

This is how my grandfather died. He was a trapper and overturned his canoe in early spring. This was many years ago when my mother was 6-7 years old. Always follow the shoreline as close as possible. If you tip your canoe 1-2km from shore and you are alone, your chances for survival are low. Many ti...

Its baked into the increased cost of the shipping.
Standard shipping + brokerage fees is generally far more expensive then Xpress shipping.

The last time I got dinged by FedEx was $93 in brokerage fees + $35 shipping. This was for a $180 item.

Here is a question for darkelf:

Why is there no brokerage fees on things shipped with an 'X' (Xpress, etc). ??? It still crosses the same borders.

I buy things from the US quite often and have always wondered why this is?

Well, the plan didn't work. We didn't see anything today. With only two of us, we decided to call it a bit early and head home. We should have a full crew out Thursday morning. In the afternoon myself and another guy will be heading up to his cottage to try out luck there. The plan is for his father...

Thanks for sharing!

Out4Trout: Congrats on the 8 pointer! Post pics if you have them. I am not sure how much of this years success can be attributed to a well managed population (at least intentionally). We are hunting 200 acres of private land. The surrounding land is hunted extensively. Most the neighbors hunt with d...

Hey, as long as I am warm and dry! I think the blue long underwear shirt looks dumber than the boots though. I just need a big "S" on the front and I am set for next Halloween. I shot another buck yesterday (I love party hunting). We have only been out 2 days, but we have bagged 3 deer. I ...

Opening day success

We had 5 guys present for opening day. The new guy shot a small buck (single antler with 3 points) in the morning. Not bad for his first day. I got to break in my new Tikka T3 on a nice 9 pointer in the afternoon. http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/9651/sdc131771024x768.jpg http://img204.imageshack....

Thank you for the kind words gentlemen. I was surprised when they offered to run with it. As I said, I only wrote it for fish-hawk. And quite frankly, I only spent an hour or so writing the original report. highlander: I suggest emailing them your question. They will likely help you locate a copy. T...

Fish-Hawk trip report published in magazine

I wrote a report this summer on my canoe trip in northern Quebec. The report I wrote was only intended to be seen on fish-hawk, but I was asked if it could be included in the next issue of Bounder magazine (a free local magazine directed towards men). Of course I said "Sure!" and the next ...
