I grew up calling them mudpout! They taste amazing in the early spring, and so easy to catch! I usually catch them in the Mississippi river west of Ottawa, or I also like this little stream out near Embrun east of Ottawa, I think its called the Castor. Either way, lots of fun and good eats!

The way this winter is shipping up, I would not put my money on a solid week of -10 temps! Not to mention we are getting 15cm of snow tomorrow that will not help the ice!

If it helps I was out on Dalhousie yesterday, there was a solid 8 inches with about 2 inches of slush ontop. Lots of ATV'S and Sleds out on the ice!

Jaw Jackers are the same mechanism as a down rigger! So if they are illegal, than so are downriggers!

Was out on the Lake today, there is at least a foot of solid ice. The pike were slamming the micro jigs!!
