Re: My 2013 Buck. The 5 Year Quest for a Buck We Call The Vet

Such a great buck... congrats! Who did the mount, and what did he end up scoring? Thanks for all the kind words... The mount was done by a friend of mine, Ray Baker. I didnt get it officially scored but did it quickly myself and came up with just over 139"... Funny enough I have his sheds from...

My 2013 Buck. The 5 Year Quest for a Buck We Call The Veteran

Back in 2009, my brother and I were just getting into using trail camera's and this nice 8 pointer showed up and we were pretty happy to have a nice 2 year old to go after in the coming years... 2009 http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p339/Legend_Killer_16/MichaelsTreestandNov2004.jpg The next year ...

I figure some of the teams that got completely 0'd on day one may have had more than 6 lbs...but would rather not go out on the 2nd day starting 18lbs back...and then would just dump their fish...

Apparently Bob Izumi went for Largemouth, and it didnt work out...He caught one close to 5...

I'm curious guys ... what would it cost to mount say a large bass or something like that ? The miser in me thinks it's a lot of cash but I really don't know ... I got a replica done of a 7lb Largemouth 22.5" from Advanced out of Toronto and it cost me right around $700...That is painted both s...

Iggles, a very nice job done on restoring your bass mount; it looks great. And Legend Killer, I hope you have that super mount in a more respectable place now than your garage. W. Yes, of course. It was just in the garage when I built the base, habitat and mounted the replica on the driftwoo...

I think Replica is the only way to go...They look better and last longer...I used Advanced Taxidermy out of the Toronto area for my 7.1 lb Largemouth and I think they did a PERFECT job...

My brother and I have done this to a 16' Princecraft Starfish...I think it was 72" wide... We built the deck back with 5/4 cedar directly on top of the plastic seats and all the way to the last full crossing seats and put a large cooler behind that for a livewell. We made a couple storage doors...

Thanks! Didn't realize we were the fan fave's.... Looking at the Renegade stats...seems we would have fared well in that league to with a 3.26 average. Top 10 team at least. A 3.26 average is awesome for sure...That is for 4 fish, not 5. Catching that quality of fish on bodies of water vs. 10 other...

See no real reason for a skin mount in this day and age. Besides, I could just never see myself "bonking" a trophy fish over the head that has alluded me for most of my fishing career... Any of the big fish I have caught (including my 6lb largie) hang in my office, displayed in a picture ...

Growing up I always said if I ever catch a Largemouth over 7 or a Smallmouth over 6 I was going to get it done. Well, after finding out about Advanced Taxidermy, I was determined to get a fish that size so a few years ago when I got my 7.1 Largemouth I took all the measurements & photos needed a...

A good idea, but Im pretty sure SEBO is the only circuit that makes you keep your lower weight...Who would be willing to risk that?

A good idea when planning on letting fish go is to not hold them up for 2 minutes talking about your day, and then take pics of them...Maybe talk about your day, pull them out of your livewell, take a few pics and let them go...

Just saying...
