Re: Lowery Taxidermy In Ottawa

Gary Bray - Sunset Taxidermy in Cornwall (St-Andrews). He did a walleye for me and a turkey for my parents. Top notch stuff. His showroom is incredible. He should charge admission!

120 participants and close to $2000 raised for CHEO and Helping Hands for GAND. Our 1st Annual Bungalow Bay Derby couldn't have gone any better. Greetings from Bungalow Bay

It's been a tale of two seasons in Bungalow Bay this year. We encountered every challenge imaginable with the set-up. From people setting up on our ice road and turning the bay into a slushy mess, to equipment failures, broken skis, flat tires, frozen regulators, you name it. But for the last 2 week...

Re: ice report rockland

Don't go on any ice roads this weekend. Let them freeze up. I've cancelled rentals for this weekend. There was 5'' of topwater in spots this morning. The rest is slush. Once everything freezes solid we're in for a great stretch. I can't speak for the fishing. I've been swamped with dealing with sett...

Toothy critters and smiles from the Ottawa River

Another guiding season is in full swing and the fish are snapping. With high water, cool temps, and little sunlight, the weeds are slow to grow and the shallow bite just won't die. Spots that were a sloppy mess at this time last year are still just starting to see greenery. These guys had a cottage ...

Re: Jigging for eyes

I've only ever had luck catching walleye trolling using bottom bouncers? If it ain't broke don't fix it. I fish the Ottawa River 100+ days a year, mostly for walleye. 80% of the walleye we catch in a given season are caught bottom bouncing. I only start to think about jigging when the water temps s...

An Opener Like None Other

About 10 days ago I was just about ready to write off guiding in May. The water levels at all local boat launches was unimaginably high, the river was covered in debris and the water looked like a Timmy's double double. Fast forward to last Thursday. City crews were cleaning up the boat launch in Ro...

Rockland Flooding Update

The last few days have been chaotic in Rockland. The outpouring of support for the residents has been incredible. Volunteers from all over Eastern Ontario were here on the weekend to help. Close to 200 000 sand bags were filled and most properties were saved. For those in the fishing community who h...

Rockland Flooding

This is the Rocklabd boat launch last night. A state of emergency was declared. http://i1180.photobucket.com/albums/x409/fisherguy33/20170504_184706_zpshyk0gtah.jpg Many house are surrounded by water. Some well known Rockland bass tournament guys living on Voisine st. are some of those affected. I'v...
