Guys/Gals... Don't waste your time calling the local MNR COs on Native issues. Anything that involves a native person being charged, it has to go through MNR Headquarters in Peterborough for pre-approval before it can be laid. As far as the Algonquin hunt for moose goes, I think there is more debate...

From year's gone by now, we have always used sacrificial blocks of wood to get the skis up off the ice. This year, we put some plastic skis on the bottoms of the runners. Should make it easier to move on the snow and ice. Plus they're black in colour and should help with the thaw if they get covered...

Seems to me I heard tell of a guy catching a 5lbs. Wally a while back...   If I recall correctly, he was using a jig and corn down at the culvert there... Though I think somebody else said it was cream corn.      Just can't picture how to get t...

Hmmm... Let's see how about this for a rule... If you got a story to tell (fishing related in some way), a picture to post, a new successful technique, a new technique not so successful, a funny joke, a cute picture, a note of congratualtions or encouragement, by all means let's see it, read it or h...

ice fishing board...
Hello All... Yes I think a separate ice fishing board would be a great idea.   What's the difficulty if we have ice fishing on its own board??? We have a Hawkey Talk section that is lightly used. So why not an ice fishing section :?: :?: :?: That way, the soft water guys can lamen...

Well let's see... From what I have heard, the Lakers are being taken in 60+ FOW on smelt lines or by those jigging for Walleye. What is being caught are the sub-adult stockers that the MNR has been dumping into the lake the past couple of years. Unfortunately, from alot of accounts, this has had a r...

Hey all... Not sure on the driving of trucks and cars... With this rain I'd be a little leary. I'm up for a day trip but a day or two advanced notice would be necessary. Gotta work the time off into the schedule. Can't just go at the drop of a hat these days. I am headed Cobden way this weekend. Wil...
