Re: Battery Lake Access?

If you walk down past the hunt camp and follow the trail it will bring you out to some rocks you can fish off.
The creek runs in right beside the rocks as well.
great place to swim in the summer.

Re: Any 2019 Stocked lakes Near Calabogie?

There is no crossing at Barrett Chute.
Has not been a crossing there for close to 20 years.
Hydro opened the dam and a mother and her son were washed down the cliffs and killed and the whole area was fenced off.
From Limestone you need to drive around the lake to get to Barry Lake Trail.

Re: GOVAN LAKE

Was camped at Govan on the 15th and 16th. Have an F-250 with a slide in camper. Some washouts had been repaired. A few culverts need some more work but if you take it easy, it shouldn't be too bad. I didn't have any problem getting in or out. Also went in from Calabogie. Most trucks should have plen...

Re: Comfortable kayak seats

I bought a Wilderness ATAK 140 18 months ago. The seat in it is amazing. Works on a track. Has upper and lower adjustments. My son and I , I'm 6'1 and he's 6'3 were fishing out of it in Port Charlotte in December. I sat in my seat, he sat right behind me in the well. I was extremely comfortable, him...

Re: New gear you want to try

Bought a Lowrance auto-pilot then had to buy a Lowrance HDS-7 Gen3 touch to make it work. Had too!
Hoping to be at Quinte Monday morning. HDS-7 installed hopefully but no pilot yet.

Cape Cod

Hi folks. Merry Christmas to all. Starting to plan a trip to the Cape for July. It looks like most campsites start booking in February. Anyone been down that way? We have a slide in camper and a 21" Mako CC that we will be taking. Hoping to fish stripers. If anyone can offer some advice ,I woul...

Re: Want to buy my first yak - recommendations

Check the store at Fairlawn plaza. Bought a Wilderness Atak 140 beginning of November last year, 1/2 price new. I think it was reg.22000n for $1100. From what I have seen, best seat going. Might be more than you want to spend but half price was a great deal for me. My wife likes this boat for cruisi...

Re: Invasive Species Awareness

Got stopped by the OPP a few weeks ago. Officers were great. Had a great talk with them. Asked them what they did when they went from one lake to another. There is a lake not far from ours with a heavy contamination of zebra mussels apparently. Said they pulled all the drains. Used to wash down with...

Re: salt water effect

Don't forget to rinse the eyes on your rod. Most rods sold here the metal frame will start to corrode after salt water use.

Re: Light action rod and reel suggestions

Hi Dave. Just got back from Florida. Bought a new reel down there. We have 2 Penn Fierce 3000 reels and I had a chance to buy a new reel. Saw the Penn Fierce 2 3000. It was $59 dollars at the local tackle retailer. Put it on the lightest spinning rod we have down there and caught a 30" Bonnet h...

Re: Where can I get Auger blades sharpened

Watched the video last week and went to Canadian Tire and spent about $12 for the buffing wheel and compound. Haven't used my auger in about 20 years , it's been banging around in the basement. Spent 15 minutes polishing and put the blades back on and no go. Spent another 15 minutes and away we go. ...
