FK,

Thanks for the update. My buddies and I should be bringing out our shack (aka trailer) on Sunday.

Where do you have your shack set up?

200 grain!!! Is there much left to dress  200gr is the lightest factory ammo made for the 35! I also have a few boxes of 250gr but I'll save them for the big game!! The 35 Whelen is good bush gun. Ploughs through the small brush. Only draw back is it has a hell of a kick. I added a bigger re...

There was a a fair bit of surface water around our trailer last night. We were able to get it off but it took a bit of efford with the ATV. There were still some trucks on the ice. You guys are braver then me.

Keep safe and see you on the Bay next winter!

We had no problems getting on to the ice on Sunday @ Shirley's. There were many vehilces including a few cars and small SUVs. We took out our 4X4 and and got our trailer set up. Cut a few holes but no fish. It was nice to get out and enjoy a fine day on the river. Looking forward to many more this w...

We were out at our shack at Shirley's yesterday and had no problem with the ice. We drove the truck all the way out. It was damn cold with the wind and were skunked again! A couple of spots with no snow cover had melted a little and their was a little bit of surface water. Nothing of great concern. ...

Thanks for the tips. Hopefull we'll have more success this weekend. If you are in the neighbourhood drop by and say hi. We are in the camouflage shack behind the converted tent trailer with the blue top. By the way, would anyone have a spare auger that we could borrow to cut some holes on the weeken...

Where exactly is the dyke? It's our 1st yr @ Shirley and we set our shack about 50 yrds to the right of the road. We have been fishing for the last 3 week-ends with tip-ups and jigging with minnows and so far have only caught a small perch. Usually we are out until 5pm (kids get tired at this point)...
