We went out for the season opener on the Rideau yesterday. Slushpuppy got a Smallmouth and I nabbed a Largemouth, Pike and Crappie. No Walleye at all. It was pretty cold for most of the day too. Might go out again today but not on the Rideau.

Slushpuppy and I will probably be fishing the Rideau starting at Andrewsville and working our way back toward Ottawa. Might try the Mississippi or the Carp on Sunday.

Thanks for all the info fellow Hawk-Talkers! I'll definitly be checking out those two places that were mentioned for boat rentals once the walleye/pike season opens. thanks again!

Does anyone know if you can rent a boat at Clayton Lake? I hear there is good Walleye and Pike in the lake.

I went out this morning to try for spring perch down by the lockstation at Nicholls Island on the Rideau. I got 7. It was damn cold and windy though!!
