Minn Kota repairs
Is there anyone around who repairs Minn Kota motors? J&S is no longer a service location. I thought I had the problem fixed but it's back. Power connection to motor is flakey - it seems like a loose wire but I can't figure out how to get the cover off the control panel on the motor.

Plugging some holes
boat_fix.png I'm looking to block off the intake for my live well and the live well drain. I don't use the livewell and I don't like the idea of relying on those connecting hoses to keep the boat afloat. It's a Princecraft Holiday DX. the holes go pretty close to the bottom seam, so not sure if cou...

MinnKota repairs
Is there anyone local that repairs Minn Kota trolling motors? I have a Traxxis that quit working last week. J&S in Blackburn Hamlet no longer does MK service. They told me the closest service location was Kingston.

Re: Aluminum boat repair
Fish To Live - thanks for the heads up. Marcs Marine did the repair on my boat this week. they did a heavy duty repair job at a very reasonable price.

Re: Aluminum boat repair
I got in touch with them and it wasn't something they wanted to do. Maybe too small a job. I found a place out towards Carp that may be able to do the job. Boat should be back in the driveway in a few weeks so I'll be able to get the floor out and ready to be worked on.

I can see why you have a spare motor ready at the front of the boat.....

Aluminum boat repair
I've got a 16' Princecraft Holiday DLX that has a couple of popped rivets on the bottom of the hull. I've replaced rivets before but this situation is a little different. The rivets are on side (seam) guard. I tried to hammer the guard back flush with the hull but it is pretty heavy duty aluminum an...

Re: Twins!
An epic 2 days in the boat for sure and a great start to the season. Had a good laugh when I came into work and saw the leader board posted on the wall in my office. I expected something when I saw him leaving the tournament banquet with it tucked under his arm. I love the trash talk and you have to...

Getting Started
Looking for some advice on the best way to give fly fishing a try. I've looked online and GreenDrake is a local company that offers fly fishing lessons. Anyone have any feedback on them or other ideas on he best way to get started.

Re: Questions on Batteries
No battery expert for sure but I had the same problem with my 50 Yamaha when I had my Humminbird wired to the starting battery. The juice required to start the engine dropped the voltage below the low voltage warning on the graph. In my case, it froze the graph and I had to restart it. I solved the ...

A good week
I capped a great two week stretch of muskie fishing on Wed night with a new PB - 49.5" Not quite a 50 (as my kids were quick to point out), but a big thrill. 2017_49-5_01b.jpg My 89 year old Mom was up at the cottage over the weekend for a visit. We are both early risers and I took her and the ...

Re: The Ottawa River Dream...50/50.
We call that combination of fish "change for a hundred" and have been talking about it for 7 years now. It's great to see that someone who fishes as much as you do and has caught lots of big fish, still gets that unmistakable grin. Well done !

I won't be going back anytime soon and I think that's the purpose of the thefts. Stay off of "our" lake. Good thing I have a hitch lock I guess.

Warning
Went Muskie fishing for the day on the Madawaska and put in at the airport launch. Came back to find someone had stolen the spare tire off of my trailer. A great day of fishing ruined by some POS who took time out of his busy day to rip me off. I'd been warned that there had be problems with stuff g...
