Re: Buying a boat with zero paperwork.....

Thanks again for the help, Cyber.
I think I got this. I only get 4 business days per month at home, then it's back to work. Here's hoping I get it right the first time and it's not stolen!

Re: Buying a boat with zero paperwork.....

Well now! That sounds like it may be relatively quick and painless! Thanks, Cyber!

Scratch that! After 10 minutes of googling affidavits and Commissioners in Ontario, I suspect it won't be painless or quick!

Buying a boat with zero paperwork.....

It's a '92 Sea Nymph with a Yamaha 40 on the back. Mint condition. From a person I trust. Problem is, he bought it off his neighbour at his cottage years ago and never registered it. Now the neighbour is long gone. With the paperwork. It could be stolen for all him and I know. Is it as simple as jus...

Lakers from a canoe Charleston Lake PP, possible?

As the title suggests, I will be staying in the park for 3 nights next week. I plan on renting a canoe and going out alone, as the wife has a fear of canoes. I'm just wondering if anyone has some experience in that Neighborhood, as I've never seen the place. Are there spots deep enough for lakers wi...

What exactly is the Castor River home to?

I moved to Embrun just befor Christmas. I work out of province and might get to fish once a week on my week home. Last spring I was lucky enough to to land a decent carp, back she went. Now, I've tried various web sites, mostly city run, and they say they're 27 species of fish in there. As I fish pr...

Re: Oiling a reel without reel oil

It's a spinning reel, and I don't know the names of the parts. I usually just take the spool off, remove the handle then hit it with some air in a can. Oil what I think needs to be oiled and put it back together. No open heart surgery here...

Re: Oiling a reel without reel oil

I'm oiling a reel. The closest reel oil I could purchase is about an hour away. The gun oil I found was only $5. I gambled, and apparently lost.

Oiling a reel without reel oil

Just got back from my local Canadian Tire where they don't sell reel oil. The guy there thought it was weird, too. So, I bought gun oil. I'm getting mixed reviews on google. Just hoping to get some opinions, gun oil for reel maintence, safe?

Re: Campground recommendations

Thanks David, I appreciate it! Now I'm considering Voyageur Prov. Park near Hawkesbury. Just trying to keep it close to home, I travel enough for work. My luck it'll rain anyways!

Campground recommendations

My usual week off is 2 weeks away and the wife and I would like to spend 3 nights, mid-week, somewhere on the St. Lawrence. I have browsed the St. Lawrence parks website, and their parks look nice. I'm just wondering if anyone has a recommendation ? We will be in a traditional tent and fishing from ...
